The last little Taoist priest: The master took his brothers down the mountain to fight against Japan, and there was no more

The little Taoist priest here does not really refer to the last one, but a story that happened in a Taoist temple.

The Taoist temple is not small, but people usually only see an old Taoist coming in and out. The old Taoist is also very withdrawn and does not talk to others. Until one time, a person asked him out of curiosity: Why are you the only one in such a big gym? The old Taoist choked up and said: Back then, the master took the brothers down the mountain to fight against the Japanese, leaving me, the youngest, looking at the gym. The master asked me to wait for them to come back... This time, there are more than fifty people. Year!

People often say: In troubled times, Taoists went down the mountain to save people, and monks closed the mountain to protect themselves; in prosperous times, Taoists closed the mountain to practice Taoism, and monks went down the mountain to make money.

We will not comment on the monk’s statement for the time being, but for Taoism, a sect originating from China, we have reason to believe and support them. And in the past, when the country was about to survive, they stood up just like this!

After the Marco Polo Bridge Incident broke out on July 7, 1937, China began an eight-year arduous war of resistance. These eight years can be said to be the eight years that are related to the life and death of the country. During the Anti-Japanese War, countless national heroes emerged, including Taoists.

1. Li Yuhang

Li Yuhang, whose Taoist name is Shunji, was born in 1916 in Xicheng Village, Xigang Township, Jintan County, Jiangsu Province. Due to the early death of his parents, the young Li Yuhang came to Maoshan Yuanfu Palace Xizhai Taoist Temple to worship the orthodox sect Geng Yunqing as his teacher and practice Taoism with a pure heart. After the outbreak of the Anti-Japanese War, Li Yuhang fled to Anhui with many of his disciples, and then moved to Wuhan, Changsha and other places. During this period, he served as food security and intelligence liaison officer in the anti-Japanese base areas, and made great contributions to the anti-Japanese war.

2. Li Yuantong

Li Yuantong, also known as Li Yuanzhong, was born in Mancheng County, Hebei Province in 1878. He joined the army in his early years. Later, due to social unrest, he became tired of the secular world and retreated to Taoism.

In the autumn of 1941, the Japanese North China Front launched a frantic attack on the Shanxi-Chahar-Hebei Anti-Japanese Base Area. At this time, the Taoist priests on Langya Mountain in Yixian County, led by Chief Li Yuandao, resolutely went down the mountain to carry out the anti-Japanese struggle. During this period, the Taoist priests used Taoist temples and caves on the mountains to hide clothing and food for the Eighth Route Army, and to protect the wounded and sick.

After liberation, Li Yuantong followed him to Taoism and learned acupuncture to save the world and treat people. Because of his superb medical skills, the locals all praise him.

Everyone is responsible for the rise and fall of a country. We should cherish today that our ancestors bought for us with their blood and never let it go to waste.

Little Taoist priest: "Master, when will you come back from going to fight against Japan?"

Taoist priest: "You will come back when it's time to come back."

Little Taoist priest: "What if I can't come back?"

Taoist priest: "If I can't come back...then I won't come back."
