Tell me what you know about Guangzhou.
There may not be so many slippers on the streets of Guangzhou now, but ten years ago, there were really many people wearing slippers on the streets. They are very ordinary slippers. Most of them are men, especially the elderly. Many of them wear slippers.
There were many herbal tea shops, and Wang Laoji was already very common at that time. When I arrived in Guangzhou, I found many herbal tea shops on the street, not worse than Wang Laoji, and the prices were also cheap.
On the sauna day in May, the first time I went to Guangzhou was May Day. It was already too hot in Guangzhou at that time. When I got off the plane, I felt like I was in a huge sauna room, sweating all the time.
These are all impressions from ten years ago. Ten years later, I came to Guangzhou again. This time it takes a long time to play. For a week, let's talk about my impression of Guangzhou on this trip. It's purely personal. I don't like it.
Because I went to Guangzhou on New Year's Day, just in time for the Spring Festival, I saw Nianju in the streets. As a northerner, it is quite strange to see Nianju for the first time. After all, in my understanding, I have to go to the orchard to see oranges. Later, I learned that this means to seek good luck with homophonic words, which is a local custom of Chinese New Year. Mainly distributed in Guangdong, Guangxi and Hainan. After all, if you are in the north, you will not produce oranges, and even if you put them outside during the Chinese New Year, they will freeze.
On the second day of the Lunar New Year, there are already many people walking in the streets of Guangzhou, and most of them are locals. In some places in the north, they didn't go out until the third grade, and began to visit one after another after the third grade. During the Spring Festival, many places in the north are still too cold, but the south is different. During the Chinese New Year, Guangzhou is in full bloom and suitable for going out.
Moreover, I think the meeting I went to during the Spring Festival should be the time when the weather is more comfortable in Guangzhou. After all, I'm going back to Nantian now, and it will soon become a sauna day.
I wonder if this will be sprayed by local people. Every time I go to a city, the local traffic will give me a different impression. The traffic in Guangzhou, especially in the old city, gives me the impression that the road network is small and dense, with many one-way streets, narrow roads, many overpasses and tortuous roads. The traffic is a bit chaotic, there are no non-motor vehicle lanes or narrow non-motor vehicle lanes, and there are many vehicles illegally occupying the road.
When it comes to transportation, I have a deep understanding. My footprints in Guangzhou are mainly in Liwan and Yuexiu, and I also travel to Tianhe and Haizhu. I often ride a bike for the convenience of shopping. The number of bicycles in Guangzhou is really convenient, but cycling is really not easy.
First of all, because the non-motor vehicle lanes in many places are not wide, I even saw a road with half a meter wide non-motor vehicle lanes, some roads without non-motor vehicle lanes, or one-way streets with narrow roads and many cars. It is often the bus that sticks to me riding a bike, and I am afraid. It is relatively better to separate some non-motor vehicle lanes with iron fences.
Because there are no non-motor vehicle lanes in some places, there are still many non-motor vehicles driving on the road, so the traffic looks a bit chaotic. It is estimated that it is not only bad to ride a bike, but also bad to drive a car.
Moreover, I found that non-motor vehicle lanes are relatively narrow, and some sections are still potholes, so I have to avoid these potholes when riding. Of course, the roads are narrow and bumpy, probably because the city is old.
There are many battery cars and pedestrians who run red lights, and there are also many people who occupy the road retrograde. The overall feeling is that the traffic is a bit chaotic.
Before riding a bike, I went through a road section. On the right, I occupied the road illegally. On the left, I saw a speeding bus. A retrograde electric car was facing me. It's just riding in the cracks. It's really too difficult. In a word, riding a bicycle several times was a near miss, and I felt that my driving skills in Guangzhou had improved a lot.
I wonder what local people think of the road conditions and traffic in Guangzhou?
However, there are many modes of public transportation in Guangzhou. In addition to buses and subways, there are light rail, BRT, water bus and APM driverless subways, which are diverse and convenient to choose.
Guangzhou has a CBD that is not lost to Beijing and Shanghai. The CBD of Zhujiang New Town gives people a bright feeling, whether it is day or night. There are many high-rise buildings, which suddenly makes people feel that they are in Hong Kong. Some people say that the CBD of Pearl River New Town is a reference to Hong Kong. This is unknown.
Although Guangzhou is a metropolis, the fireworks here are very strong. A former colleague left Beijing and went to Shenzhen. After working in Shenzhen, he went to Guangzhou. She said that she preferred the living atmosphere in Guangzhou.
This kind of life and fireworks are particularly strong in the old city, which has made Guangzhou a major feature.
I wonder if it's because it happens to be common. The young parents I met in public places in Guangzhou are all of good quality. In the subway or elevator, if children are noisy or loud, parents will stop them in time. Although sometimes children don't stop making noise right away, this move is still impressive.
Shrimp dumplings, chicken feet with soy sauce and other kinds of morning tea, rice rolls, clay pot rice, Wonton Noodles, barbecued pork, fried beef river, rice noodles, double skin milk, Yang Zhi manna, ginger milk and other kinds of sugar water, Guangzhou is definitely a veritable treasure house of food. After staying here for 6 days, I still found a lot of Cantonese cuisine.
However, after all, foreigners' eating habits are different, too light and primitive. I may not be fit to eat for more than a week, not just in Guangdong. Many places, such as South Korea and northwest China, will eat well the other day, but I can't stand eating continuously.
Before I went to Guangzhou, I always heard that there were many black people in Guangzhou, which even brought troubles to the lives of local people. However, after I went there, I found that it was not as exaggerated as it was said on the Internet. During my week in Guangzhou, I didn't see any of them, and maybe I didn't go to many places. Some netizens said that they are all concentrated, generally in Sanyuanli, Xiaobei Gold Rush and other places.
It's not that you can't eat spicy food, it's just an objective thing. Basically, I eat snail powder which is slightly spicy. In Guangdong, I actually got a medium spicy one, but it turned out not to be spicy. After all, Cantonese people prefer the original flavor of food, so the local spicy degree will also be affected by these factors.
Having said that, in real life, there are some unfriendly comments on the Guangdong content posted before, and it is found that some Cantonese people especially like to call people fishing for X, children, women, men and so on. There are also different opinions on whether fishing X is derogatory on the Internet, but it seems that many young people will make it clear that they will not call others that way.
These are my feelings as a tourist for a few days. There are good and bad. My understanding of Guangzhou is shallow, not deep enough and not representative. It only represents my true feelings after staying in Guangzhou for a few days. My impression of Guangzhou is welcome to discuss.
