As for Tsui Hark's works, almost 9% of them are written by screenwriters, so his works basically contain his originality or his thoughts.

I think a good work needs a kind of spirit. If Zhang's works are supported by a good original and have the ability to control the picture, all the works will be good. But without these elements in it, only the picture is left. Every piece of Tsui Hark's works has his ideas to express, and all his thoughts are in it, so Tsui Hark's works are relatively good.

Both Tsui Hark and Zhang want to make a breakthrough. What Zhang wants to say in Hero is what is a hero, that is, serving the country and the people is a hero, not a chivalrous man fighting for each other in the Jianghu. The idea is good, but the problem is how to show this idea with stories. Personally, I think this is where Zhang failed. 1. Chose Qin Wang, a tyrant recognized in history, as a positive object. 2, the most critical point, is also a common problem of domestic directors, ignoring the audience, always showing how wise the leaders are, but the most important thing should be the following people, only the following people can arouse everyone's * * * sound, and the leaders always appear as Gao Daquan, which shows that the difference between social leaders and movies is too big. So it can't cause everyone to say nothing, and it has become a joke. This problem is embodied in domestic war movies, where most leaders sit in the room and strategize, and then a wide-angle and dense person takes the lead. The performance is how wise the leader is, not how brave the soldiers below are. This kind of film is for the leaders, not for the people. What the people want to see is the flesh-and-blood soldiers in Brothers, not the almost perfect leader who makes no mistakes. And Zhang made this mistake.

It is said that both Tsui Hark and Zhang want to break through themselves. Zhang made a breakthrough in Speak Up, No One Can Be Less, and it was unsuccessful. Then he made a breakthrough in Hero. Personally, I think the attempt is good, but we should sum up the tried results and not be confused by the present phenomenon. But Zhang was confused. I think this direction is right. I don't want to say that Zhang is not good, but the level of screenwriter is really poor. "Hero" can be said to be an attempt, but "House of Flying Daggers" is just to make money. There is a character in this book who pays more attention to Zhang Weiping. We shouldn't scold him. He did nothing wrong. Will someone say that his things are not good? Unless there is something wrong with this person. However, everyone should be sober and understand that this guy may talk or not.

Tsui Hark is constantly breaking through himself, which I think everyone knows better, but Tsui Hark's spirit has never changed, that is, a strong sense of social responsibility. Many of his works ridicule society, care for humanity and hope to revitalize the Chinese nation. Zhang has no such spirit. From the perspective of Hero, he wants to show that heroes should serve the country and the people, but he doesn't know how to do it for the country and the people. Huang Feihong by Xu not only shows the collision between eastern and western cultures, such as wearing foreign clothes and speaking foreign languages, but also shows the idea of how to make the country rich and strong. For example, Huang Feihong said, can a single brand of the Lion King Congress change the national luck? If you want to enrich the country and strengthen the country, you must broaden the wisdom of the people, and you can't broaden the wisdom of the people even now. The gold medal we won in the Olympic Games really shows that the physical quality of our citizens is so good? This is not clear. And how much is commendable in this respect.

Therefore, as a director without cultural tradition, he can't understand what it means to serve the country and the people and what it means to be a real hero. What I think of is how to improve my reputation and gain greater benefits. With his camera skills, he can become a film craftsman, but he will never become a movie master. And Tsui Hark, I believe he also needs the box office, but he will spare no effort to promote national culture. At this point, few domestic directors can match.
