My hometown is Xichang. Every year, there is a special' grand event'-Torch Festival. This kind of grand event is just like Chinese New Year. This grand event will be held in early August. Torch Festival is a collective interactive festival, which is held around June 24th of the lunar calendar. There will be all kinds of entertainment activities on the Torch Festival. There are horse racing, bullfighting, singing, wrestling and cockfighting. Torch Festival is not only fun, but also delicious. There are mutton kebabs, roast suckling pigs, hand-grabbed rice and many other delicious foods. But the most interesting time of Torch Festival is when the burning torch is lit. From the moment the torch festival is lit, there will be three days of carnival, namely, welcoming fire, praising fire and sending fire.

Last August, I personally experienced a Torch Festival. When we came to the place where the Torch Festival was held, we found a sea of people everywhere. You push me, I push you. We finally got out of the crowded crowd. There are men, women and children in the crowd, and of course the happiest is the children! Torch Festival has begun, and every intersection is ablaze. Cheers, music and applause made the whole city lively. Not to mention how beautiful Yi girls are. They all have black and thick braids. Wearing a headdress made of silver. Dressed like a rainbow, dancing by the fire. The boys followed closely. They also have shiny black hair, horns made of cowhide and knight-like cloaks. The boys here started bullfighting, and the children there sang and danced around the fire. We can't help but join in. We talked and laughed. After singing and dancing, we started a beauty contest. The purpose of the competition is to select the most beautiful girl and the most handsome boy within one year. I want to participate, but children can't participate in this activity. The day passed in a hurry with laughter.

The next day, everyone brought their own food to share with you. This passionate city is my hometown-Xichang. I really want to spend this warm and cheerful festival with you and share the happy "Year" of the Yi people with you.
