Introduction to Yuexiu Mountain

Yuexiu Mountain, also known as Yuexiu Mountain and Yuewang Mountain, is located in Yuexiu District, Guangzhou City, China, with an altitude of 70 meters. It is the remnant of Baiyun Mountain. During the Yongle period of the Ming Dynasty, a Guanyin Pavilion was built on the mountain, also known as Guanyin Mountain. It consists of the main peak Yuejinggang and the surrounding seven hills including Panlonggang, Guihuagang, Mukegang, Changyaogang and Liyutougang and three lakes (Dongxiu Lake, Nanxiu Lake and Beixiu Lake). The entire Yuexiu Park covers an area of ??1.86 million square meters. Yuexiu Mountain was a strategic maritime location in ancient times. The Zhenhai Tower was built on the top of the mountain, which is now one of the city symbols of Guangzhou. After the founding of the People's Republic of China, the Guangzhou Municipal People's Government designated Yuexiu Mountain as Yuexiu Park.
