What kind of state and psychology is "selflessness"?

No self, no ego, you must first have no self.

It is more difficult to become a Buddha if you cut off all egotism.

If you first understand that there is no self, you must first discover that all five aggregates are empty, and then cut off the view of self.

Then we need to solve the mental state and empty out the life skills. Anatta is only temporarily suppressed. If we don’t cut off the self-view from the heart, it will still recur. This is like being able to empty out the body. I will see you again and again if something happens to you.

The true selflessness is to realize the Tathagatagarbha (Middle Way Theory)

Or find the Tathagatagarbha (Consciousness Only Sect)

The Taoist I see I am not thorough, the Yin Shen and Yuan Shen are all phantoms of Tathagatagarbha.

No-self is not accurate, it should be the clear mind of no-self that is more accurate. After enlightenment, the Tathagatagarbha does not correspond to the six objects, it is the mind of ignorance. At this time, it is the true sense of no-self.

In fact, there is still a self, and always being happy and pure is the greater self.

No-self does not mean emptying out everything, nor does it mean not seeing a dharma. Emptiness and emptiness are very different. Emptiness means selflessness, and emptiness means holding on to emptiness. It is easy to fall into stagnant water without fish, and become discouraged. Intellectual stubbornness.

Selflessness is a state.

I am in the Tao, the Tao is in me, and all things are one. I am in you, you are in me. Great compassion for the same body.

No self, no selfishness, no discrimination, no jealousy, no condescension, no hatred, no evil, no delusion, no obsession, equality of all living beings, humility and respect.

There is no self, no one, no living beings, no lifespan, and the heart is empty. The eyes do not follow sights, the ears do not follow sounds, the nose does not follow scents, the tongue does not follow tastes, the body does not follow touch, and the mind does not follow dharma. Surrender the six faculties and six thieves in your heart. You can't go up the wall when you hear the drums. You should keep your mind still, neither go nor come, and have no awareness of the outside world. Hold on to concentration, wisdom, and so on. Concentration is in wisdom, and wisdom is in concentration.

When Bodhidharma first came to China, no one knew the true Buddha and no one listened to his teachings. Only a bird said to Bodhidharma: "Come from the West, come from the West, teach me how to get out of the cage." Bodhidharma said: "Kick your legs and close your eyes to get out of the cage." The bird quickly understood. When it saw its owner coming home, it quickly kicked off its legs and closed its eyes. The owner came back and saw his beloved bird kicking its legs. He hurriedly took the bird out of the cage and put it on the palm of his hand. He wondered why the bird was dead. While he was stunned, the bird suddenly flew away. The bird really came out of the cage and flew away. It was free and would no longer be imprisoned in the cage. This question exactly illustrates the freedom of selflessness.

The eyes see forms and forms, but there is nothing within them; the ears hear things in the world, but the heart does not know. No self, no one, no sentient beings, no lifespan, freedom and freedom.

After a person realizes selflessness, he realizes the truth between the universe and life. He discovered that when he broke through many restrictions and broke through the illusory shackles in his thoughts and understanding, the "I" that life was attached to disappeared, the previous individual consciousness disappeared, and I "died". What followed was the boundless consciousness of the universe. For this vast and boundless mind, some people sighed, this mind is the universe, and the universe is this mind! The Kunpeng that smiles proudly between heaven and earth in Zhuangzi's "Xiaoyaoyou" is a metaphor for the state of mind at this time, which is boundless freedom. It is the great freedom of "following the heart's desires without exceeding the rules", and the great freedom of "taking advantage of the righteousness of heaven and earth, resisting the debate of the six qi, and swimming in infinity".

The fundamental meaning of life is to discover this truth and dissolve the limited self into this boundless and vast universe. At this time, all the five aggregates are empty, and all hardships can be overcome. We will know that form is not different from emptiness, and emptiness is not different from color. Deeply understand the empty phase of all dharmas. The real dharma realm is neither born nor destroyed, nor stained, nor pure, neither increasing nor decreasing. At this time, all dualistic oppositions are eliminated. There is no old age and death, no end of old age and death, no ignorance, no end of ignorance, no Suffering sets in and destroys the path, and there is no wisdom or gain. We transcend the limitations of dualistic thinking and come to the spiritual consciousness of oneness. The mind has no worries, and there are no worries, so there is no fear. Stay away from upside-down dreams and achieve nirvana.

Without self, there is no one, no living beings, and no life.

It is difficult to achieve selflessness, but through continuous practice and realization, one can realize one's own nature, and the state of selflessness will initially appear.

But when we truly reach the state of no-self, that is the selflessness that does not even have self. This is the real selflessness, which is the realm of Tathagatagarbha.

Of course, this requires countless asamkhya kalpas of practice to achieve.

In the initial stage of cultivation, you must have the awareness to dwell in your mind, that is, to dwell in your own nature. Self-nature is authenticity.

From our ordinary people’s thinking, that is, the heart is our own heart. Don’t follow the people, things, things, and scenery outside the heart. Your own heart, although this heart is still in your body, it has lost its nature and is always stained with dust and troubled by color. These troubles will be combined by causes and conditions to create countless troubles, which will never end. You will create a boundless sea of ??suffering for yourself, and you will never have a happy life.

Therefore, after knowing this truth, you must understand that my heart is originally pure. When I enter the color dust and close my desires, all the color dust actually has nothing to do with me. It has nothing to do with me in the first place. No matter how he makes trouble, No matter how crazy I am, I can't hold on to the pure, Tathagata Tibet. If you have various desires in your heart, let them go. Letting go means looking back. When you turn back, you will find the other shore, and you can escape from the sea of ??suffering.

The state of selflessness is liberation, the state of escape from the sea of ??suffering.

"There is no self in all dharma" is the truth of the universe and life. Being able to recognize, understand, and comprehend is the conceptual height of Buddhism. Being able to actually experience it personally is the enlightened state of self-nature and original enlightenment. It is at least the stage of "equal-enlightenment Bodhisattva" and is close to the Buddha!

"Buddha" is the "enlightened one". Awareness and conduct of the mind and earth realm are perfect, with five eyes and six penetrations, and one has "no leakage" wisdom. "No leakage" means to cut off all worries. All "external" practices that seek the Dharma outside the heart can only reach the five highest magical powers. Only those who have achieved Buddha enlightenment can obtain "the power to eliminate all leakages."

Without true "selflessness", how can we cut off all worries and gain access to "all leaks"? The source of trouble is me. In the heart of the eighth consciousness, how easy is it to cut off the karmic seeds of "delusion, discrimination, and attachment" that have been accumulated for eons without beginning? Not to mention ordinary people in the six realms, even saints from the three realms, Arhats, Pratyekabuddhas, and great Bodhisattvas are all practicing in stages to achieve fruition. The Hinayana saints (Sravakas and Pratyekabuddhas) break away from the "attachment" mind, while the Mahayana Bodhisattva breaks away from the "discrimination" mind. To achieve enlightenment and wonderful enlightenment, you must break away the last bit of ignorance before you can realize the Buddha's Dharma body and enter the non-being. "Delusion" realm.

"Sincerity, Purity, Equality, Enlightenment, Compassion" - this is the "selfless" state of Buddhahood. A "pure" heart, free of attachment and pollution, is the state of an Arhat, who is in charge of his own body and "self-contained". Equality of mind, non-discrimination, taking the hearts of all living beings as the heart, only when all living beings are saved can one realize Bodhi, and the hell will not be empty, and one will never become a Buddha. This is the state of Manjushri, Samantabhadra, Ksitigarbha, Avalokitesvara, and other great Bodhisattvas. "Perfect Enlightenment" is in place. When all delusional thoughts are eradicated, that is the state of the Buddhaland, where blessings and wisdom are complete, there is no remaining nirvana, great round mirror wisdom, and boundless light and life span, and one is integrated with all living beings. This self-natured awareness that is inherently pure, unshakable, self-sufficient, and capable of producing all things

If you want to understand it now, practice it through teachings, and gradually attain it, read the following sentence:

"See through, let go, be at ease, follow the fate, and recite the Buddha's name."

"All things are caused by causes and conditions, and the Buddha said that they are empty." Understand that the nature of "I" is all caused by "causes and conditions". Dharma, causes and conditions are all "impermanent", and there is no attachment to "I". Although the principle is clear, it must be practiced and realized before it can be used. Seeing through it helps to let it go, and let go of it. The philosophy of Budai monk can be mentioned. Let it go, the big belly can tolerate it.

First of all, this is a question for ordinary people to speculate on the realm of saints. No matter how you plagiarize, you will always imitate words and quote them out of context, just like a kindergartener. It’s hard for children to write a thesis for college students. Why do you say this? Buddhism talks about four steps: belief, understanding, practice, and realization. In detail, you must first have a firm belief in Buddhism, and secondly, you must understand the meaning of the sutra. , Third, we must practice in accordance with the instructions of the sutra. Fourth, we must personally experience and realize the true state of selflessness. Those who have not personally witnessed it are just hearsay. The Lotus Sutra clearly states that only. One Buddha Vehicle. But he is afraid of being frightened by those with weak minds, so he teaches according to his aptitude. For example, if your highest degree is academician, then you should reach high school first, and then continue to the higher education level if you have a good foundation. Go to university, take the postgraduate entrance examination, study for a doctorate, and then become an academician. . Only those who are fully enlightened are Buddhas who have realized the twelve causes and conditions. Now it is remarkable to say that the state of selflessness is the state of Arhat. In today's age of the Buddha, it is very difficult to find a first-fruition saint. Rare, not to mention the Arhat. The Arhat has surpassed the Four Zens and Eight Concentrations, and has five eyes and five powers, including the power of heavenly eyes, the power of other minds, the power of destiny, and the power of divine feet.

Moreover, there is no pain in the body, and even if you cut it with a knife, you will not know the pain. Therefore, the Buddha in the Diamond Sutra said, "Remembering the past, I was a tolerant sage, cutting off my body section by section, and I will be resentful in response." This pain is all achieved through the Four Zen and Eight Concentrations, so if you ask an ordinary person without any spiritual enlightenment to explain the state and psychology of selflessness, it is simply a fantasy. Crazy children talk about dreams.

Buddhism is a thing from ancient India. It was later introduced to China and became more and more mysterious as it spread. Until now, people are talking a lot about it. . . As a result, modern people have no idea what Buddhism is talking about. This kind of post is actually nonsense. If there really is a high truth in Buddhism, this kind of nonsense and preaching that modern people cannot understand is actually destroying Buddhism!

Being able to use the language of modern people can make people understand what is useful for daily life. It will be more beneficial to your life than this kind of nonsense that you don’t even know what to say!

Think about the time when Buddha, the Buddha of Buddhism, only talked a few words and didn’t put much effort into it. It was probably only two lessons in one class. Many students became enlightened during the class time! Now they talk nonsense all day long and pretend to understand, so it is better not to say anything. It is a great sin to cloud and mist to confuse people's minds, and according to Buddhist precepts, it is a serious crime to go to hell!

The world longs for benevolent people to enlighten and save them, but if you are half jealous, you'd better not talk nonsense!

"No-self" is opposite to the persistence of "self". The "I" in life, the body and the six dusts produced by the body are actually just an accidental existence, not real. Everything will change over time. Get old and disappear. Compared with the time when the entire universe was formed, the few decades of human life are simply insignificant, so what is there to be obsessed with? As the saying goes, when meat and wine pass through the intestines, they remain in the heart of the Buddha. If a person can understand the futility of being attached to "I", he can experience the purification of his soul and ultimately achieve a happy life.

In real life, it is not uncommon to achieve "selflessness". People are often obsessed with certain ideas, such as in order to satisfy their own enjoyment of material and spiritual wealth, even at the expense of causing a lot of pain and annoyance, but they often ignore it. To catch up with the pursuit in life. Mr. Nan Huaijin, a master of modern Chinese studies, said that all sentient beings have an "ego", which means they are very attached to the phenomenon of "I"! All their delusions, consciousness, worries, and all unreal concepts and thoughts are eliminated. Treat it as real. At this point, many people make fundamental mistakes. In fact, all changes in our thoughts, psychology, and consciousness are phenomena or changes caused by the "heart" and are not the real heart. But when people grasp the phenomenon very firmly, they will regard these changes as the mind. Buddhism pays attention to eternity rather than moment. In the evening classes for studying Buddhism, I read every day: "As the days have passed, my life has also shortened. It is like a fish in the water, so what joy is there." Today is over, and this life span is a little shorter. Today is over, today Will not be returning. Youth has passed away, and aging does not stay long. It looks very sad. However, what is revealed behind this sadness is the understanding of the impermanence of life. Life is like a dream, dew, or electricity. It is really necessary to stabilize the mind so that you can sit and watch the clouds rise, not be confused by illusions, and cultivate a Zen mind. The difference between the Buddha and all living beings? The Lord Buddha is always very kind and compassionate, and everything is in "no-self", while all living beings are always attached to the material, spiritual desires, and fame and fortune in the "self", which is difficult to let go of. Many people may laugh secretly. How can the realm of Buddha be achieved by ordinary people? In fact, it is not the case.

The "Diamond Sutra" tells us that the so-called ordinary person is originally a pseudonym. There is no real ordinary person, and the pseudonym is just an ordinary person. In other words, all living beings are Buddhas, and everyone is a seed of Buddha, but all living beings cannot find their own nature; once they find it, they are no longer ordinary people, but are all Buddhas, and all living beings are equal. Therefore, in the Zen classics of later generations, there is no difference between the mind, the Buddha, and all living beings. The mind is the Buddha. If you realize it, the mind is the Buddha. If you don't realize it, the Buddha is also an ordinary person. There is no difference between the mind, the Buddha and all living beings, and they are all equal.

There is no difference between the mind, the Buddha, and all living beings. Everyone is born a Buddha, but many people sink into the secular world and cannot extricate themselves, so they lose their own nature and think that they cannot be Buddhas. Therefore, everyone does not need to belittle oneself. As long as you are willing to give up everything to practice, you can still become a Buddha.

Why can’t you become a Buddha if you practice Taoism and enlightenment in life? Mr. Nan Huaijin, a master of Chinese traditional culture, believes that it is because first of all, the "body view" cannot be removed. I always feel that there is a self and this body, so we must look at the body very closely. .

Most people always think that the shadow of the six objects is the image of one's own mind. What is the shadow of the six objects? The light from outside, what can be seen with the eyes. Sound, audible sound. Fragrant, a smell that can be smelled by the nose. Taste, the taste that can be tasted by the tongue. Touch, the feeling felt by the body. Dharma, the thinking that comes to mind. The six functions of eyes, ears, nose, tongue, body, and mind are the "six roots" that people are born in the world. The six external objects and six physical phenomena interact with the six roots of the body to produce an image, which is called the shadow of the six objects. For example, photos, movies, and TV are all conditioned shadows and illusions. However, these conditioned shadows are very powerful and will cause us to feel happy, angry, sad, and happy. When we see them in pain, we are also in pain; when we see them happy, we are also happy. Even though you know it's fake, you still have to be affected by it.

In real life, if we think about it, our thoughts are all upside down in the shadow of the six objects. For example, many of us watch a movie and are moved to tears by the characters and events in the movie at the end. Although we know clearly that it is fake, we are still moved to tears on the spot. Why? It’s because I was deceived by the shadow of the six worlds. Everything in life is a shadow of the six dusts. Can we keep what happened yesterday? Can we put it in front of our eyes again? No, these have passed, they are all shadows of the six dusts. However, everyone often recalls what happened yesterday. Sometimes they are extremely angry, sometimes they are extremely sad, and sometimes they are extremely happy. Nan Huaijin said that all living beings are trapped in the shadows of the six dusts and regard them as their own hearts. Therefore, if a person wants to get rid of all kinds of troubles, he must get rid of all kinds of illusions about "self" and no longer be attached to me.

Anyone who studies Buddhism or Zen must first establish a clear outlook on life. People who study Buddhism must first establish this concept in their hearts: When you come to this world in this life, you are here to repay your debts and repay the grievances of all the people involved. Because we come into this world with bare hands and naked bodies, and we have nothing. When you grow up, food, clothing, and everything you have are all gifts given by all living beings, parents, teachers and friends. I only owe others, and others have nothing to do with me. Therefore, I must do my best to contribute to the people of the world in order to repay their kindness and pay off the old debts I have accumulated over many lifetimes and since I was born. He even sacrifices himself to serve the world and benefit the world. This is the starting point for the first important point of giving in Mahayana Buddhism.

The Confucian spirit of helping the world is actually connected to the compassion of Buddhism to some extent. Du Fu's wish to "have tens of millions of mansions, shelter all the poor people in the world with joy, and be as safe as a mountain without being affected by wind and rain" is actually completely consistent with the spirit of Buddhism. The so-called "save all the people in the world without leaving a single thought in my heart" is the true realm of Buddhism, and everything else is false.

All living beings see the Buddha as a Buddha and people as human beings; but the Buddha sees all living beings as Buddhas, and everyone is a seed of Buddha. It is only because he fell into the world by mistake that he was contaminated with the mundane world. Don't blind the brilliance of your soul. As long as you are willing to practice, everyone will have a blooming lotus and a Buddha seed in their heart. To describe it in a poem, it is "I have a bright pearl, which has been locked up by the dust for a long time. Now the light is born when the dust is gone, shining through thousands of mountains and rivers."

Cut off my limbs and give them to you , is that "I"? If I cut off my head and give it to you, is that “me”? Obviously, these things you see are not me... That's why the Diamond Sutra says: "Ordinary people think there is me"!

So, what does "selflessness" mean? It is a "phase" that is "integrated" with what you are born with and various "causes and conditions" (various sentient beings and various environments). The "obstacles" that cannot be liberated from this "appearance" can be summarized as: "greed, anger, ignorance, pride, and doubt"! Try this "delete"... So, "selflessness" refers to letting go of the attachment to the "five poisons" and letting go again... The more you let go, the more you get. The more you let go, the more freedom you have...the more you feel comfortable! All obstacles come from "I see"! I used to think every day that I would eventually become a pile of scum... and that pile of scum was not "me" - what else would I be attached to?

The first step to realize "selflessness" is: "Howl first, then laugh."

At this time, the unity of inner perception and thinking exploration is completed, and the inner division of the self is bid farewell. This is described in the Tongren Gua in the Book of Changes.

At this time, the perspective and underlying logic of the mind have evolved, and seeing, thinking and recognizing things will be completely different from the past.

Then, the second step is the beginning of practice. Only then can people truly realize how powerful "past habits" are. That is really not the so-called realm in the special atmosphere of meditation and spiritual cultivation. At this time, people will not be complacent about these inductions and supernatural powers, and then slowly understand that those realms are all fake, and things will happen in reality. Well, my first reaction was even worse than that of an ordinary person.

This period is the most painful and needs to be worked out slowly. It doesn’t count if you don’t dig out your heart and bones!

Cultivation is a manly matter, more difficult than an emperor’s matter. Can you advance to the next level just because you feel comfortable? Dream on!

The third step is to smoothen and broaden the mind. But the most difficult thing is to get rid of the arrogance in the bones of "I can, I am powerful". In Buddhism, it is called "one is too high and one is too arrogant". The real person Lao Tzu said: "If you understand the four elements, you can be ignorant." Can you let go of that "I know"? It's too difficult to get to this point. If you have to let go of what you have been striving for all your life, then that will work!

The feeling of skipping this step is that of regret, that's the feeling. "Kanglong has regrets" is a very vivid descriptive language. The heart is truly at peace, in sharp contrast to the past, that's the feeling.

At this time, it is not true "selflessness" yet.

There is still your character in reality, and there are various matters to deal with. Soon after another ten or twenty years, I will become wiser, and I will be able to apply it freely and harmoniously in daily life. I feel completely worry-free inside. Just like "following the heart's desires without going beyond the rules," this state is true selflessness. Slow, that's not necessarily the case. Some people can't do it in several lifetimes.

When there is no self, there is actually no feeling at all. It's very ordinary, everything is what it is, no worries, no memories, no extravagant hopes, no emptiness, no nothingness, no thoughts of no self or self. But people are more alive, calm, lively and natural than before. It's not like he turned into a dead person or a stone.

There is a lot of homework to be done before "crying first and then laughing", such as calming down, which is a big question for people today.

In fact, calming down requires energy. Your own energy is in a state of consumption and dissipation. No matter how you meditate, chant sutras, or meditate, it will not work, and your thoughts will wander around. If you can't control your own energy, and you can't be a self-proclaimed master, then you can't talk about meritorious service.
