The Ming Tombs are located in the valley at the southern foot of Tianshou Mountain in Changping County, about 50 kilometers northwest of Beijing. The Ming Tombs are located seven kilometers south of Fengyang County, Anhui Province. It was built by Zhu Yuanzhang, the founding emperor of the Ming Dynasty, for his parents and sister-in-law. When it was first built, it occupied an area of about 20,000 mu. It was founded in the 26th year of Yuan Dynasty (A.D. 1366) and completed in the 12th year of Hongwu (A.D. 1379). In the second year of Hongwu, it was recommended as Lingying Mausoleum and later renamed Huangling Mausoleum.
Ming Zuling is located on the west bank of Hongze Lake in Xuyi County, Jiangsu Province. It is the cenotaph of Zhu Yuanzhang's great-grandfather and the actual burial place of his grandfather. After Zhu Yuanzhang unified the whole country, in the 19th year of Hongwu (AD 1386), an ancestral grave was built here, and his grandfathers Zhu Chuyi, Zhu and Zhu were reburied after sealing. The following year, he built a palace in front of the tomb. In the 11th year of Yongle (A.D. 14 13), Judy built a walking gate and fence.
Located on Chunde Mountain, 5 kilometers northeast of Zhongxiang City, Hubei Province, the Ming Mausoleum was founded in the 14th year of Ming Zhengde (15 19) and completed in the 45th year of Ming Jiajing (1566). It took 47 years to build, and was buried by Emperor Zhu Youjue, the father of Emperor Jiajing of Ming Shizong, and Empress Zhu Youxian, the mother of Emperor Jiajing.
