Morphological characteristics of civet cats in China

Civet has a round head, close ears, moderate size, wide ears and a round top. Wide cheeks make the head look quite round. Eyes are big and bright, almond-shaped, and colors ranging from yellow, gold to green are acceptable.

The back hair is divided into long hair and short hair, and the stripes are very beautiful. Because it resembles the stripes of wild raccoons, we usually call it raccoon flower stripes. There are M-shaped stripes on the forehead, continuous extension lines at the corners of the eyes, annular stripes on the neck, limbs and tail, and fishbone spurs or leopard prints on the body.

The back hair is usually brown or dark brown. Some cats have white hair, and its color is called raccoon gray. The stripes on civet cats should be beautiful and clear. Usually the foot pads and palm hairs are black.
