Creation background

After Qin Shihuang unified the six countries, in order to consolidate his dominant position, he accepted the suggestion of Prime Minister Lisi, burned books (except medicine, divination and agricultural books) in the 34th year of the first emperor (2 13 BC), and buried Confucian scholars alive in the 35th year of the first emperor (2 12 BC), trying to continue his imperial career. The author may have been to the place where the book was burned, heard, heard and felt.

works appreciation

This poem denies Qin Shihuang's strategy of burning books, arguing that it is useless to stabilize imperial industry. However, the poet did not put forward practical measures to help Qin Shihuang stabilize his inheritance, nor did he explore the real reason for the demise of the Qin Dynasty, but left this thinking to readers. This way can be said to be a clever use of artistic techniques, but on the other hand, it also reveals the poet's lack of knowledge, which makes it difficult to give readers ideological vigilance.
