Representative storytellers in northern Shaanxi

China storyteller from northern Shaanxi. Male, Han nationality, from Hengshan, Shaanxi. At the age of 3, he went blind. /kloc-study art at the age of 0/3. At the age of 30, he can rap dozens of books and play more than 50 kinds of folk songs. He is a blind actor in the Shaanxi-Gansu-Ningxia border region. He created and performed more than 500 new jokes, enthusiastically eulogizing new people, new things and new fashions. His works have a strong flavor of life and distinctive flavor of the times and folk art features. He also reformed the musical accompaniment of storytelling, added musical instruments such as bangzi and blackboard writing, and creatively integrated the tunes of northern Shaanxi folk songs, Daoqing, Wan Wan, Shaanxi and Hu Mei into storytelling, making this art form more full. For decades, he overcame difficulties, persisted in going deep into the countryside, performed for the broad masses of farmers, and set an example for the quyi community. Zhang Jungong (1932-2008)

China storyteller from northern Shaanxi. Male, Han nationality, from Hengshan County, northern Shaanxi, is a storytelling reformer in northern Shaanxi. He devoted his life to folk storytelling, and he is a symbolic figure in the history of storytelling in northern Shaanxi. As early as the 1970s, Zhang Jungong raised the banner of reforming storytelling, changing from sitting to walking, from one person to many people, and becoming a school of his own. After the reform, storytelling in northern Shaanxi has a clearer division of roles, mutual singing and response, performance of characters and expressions, and emphasis on stage manners, hands, eyes, methods and steps. Zhang Jungong's reform of storytelling in northern Shaanxi has made this folk art flourish. His main works include The Whole Tang Poetry, The Golden Bracelet and Yuhuan, Shoes, Watching Lights, Yang Jiajiang, etc.

Jie Ming Sheng

A native of Ansai County, Yan 'an City, is the oldest apprentice in Zhang Jungong, half-blind, 53 years old. 1964 studied with master Zhang Jun and was the captain of Ansai Quyi Team. 1995 won the Peony Award of the Second National Quyi Festival.

Cao Boyan

Northern Shaanxi storytelling performance artist, male, from Yanchuan County, Northern Shaanxi, 1962. National first-class actor, member of Chinese Quyi Artists Association, outstanding young artist in Shaanxi Province. Member of China Democratic League. Worked in Yan 'an Quyi Museum. He performed storytelling in northern Shaanxi, participated in many national, provincial and municipal large-scale literary performances and competitions and won awards, and performed on CCTV 17 times.
