The intellectual achievements of Zen have a clear mind and a clear mind.
Why can Zen achieve so much and become so important? In order to understand this, you must know "what is Buddhism?" And' what is the main purpose of Buddhism?' As you know, the ultimate goal of Buddhism is to ask for wisdom and enlightenment (as opposed to (the enthusiasm of Christianity and the grace of God, or the blessings of gods of all other religions). However, why is the so-called enlightenment so important and desirable that it can even become the ultimate goal of Buddhism?
Let's look at the English word' (enlightenment) from the etymology: the conjunction en-, put in; The suffix -en means verb, light up. Therefore, according to the etymology of the word enlightenment (word-making principle), it means to inject the light of Buddha's wisdom into the dark hearts of all beings, because there is often no or little light in the hearts of all beings. Because there is no light in the hearts of all beings, there is no light of wisdom, so the whole heart is always wrapped or covered by darkness, and therefore the hearts of all beings become blind and stupid, so they are blind to their own hearts and the outside world. As a result, most people grope their way forward in the dark all their lives, stumbling all the time, and can only be dragged or driven by their own dark and ignorant karma-thus constantly creating careers based on "self-interest" and "self-centeredness": for self-interest or survival, they repeatedly hurt others to enrich themselves, and they are always self-righteous.
All beings are like this. They have lived or been imprisoned in their own cells all their lives. During their thinking, they have been planning, calculating, designing and strategizing for themselves until they die. This life is not finished, and the afterlife will continue. This is called "endless rotation"
Why do all beings do this? Because they have no light in their hearts, that is, the so-called "self-ignorance", they have been blindly pursuing all their lives and suffered numerous failures, setbacks, blows and pains. However, driven by "ignorance", they unknown so, at the same time, can't help repeating the endless blind pursuit, "chasing outward", jumping back and forth and never looking back. Therefore, the only way to break this endless trouble and pain is to make him "clear-headed" and have light in his heart, that is, to shine the great wisdom and light of the Buddha into his "heart"; In order to achieve this goal, the walker must open his "heart", even if he can't open it all, so that the Buddha's light and the sun's light can penetrate into every corner of his atrium, or at least open a gap (as stated in the meditation at the beginning of the Shurangama Sutra), so that at least a ray of Buddha's light can enter his heart, illuminate his ventricle and let him "see himself"-then he can see himself. Yu Yan really walked into "knowing himself" and "knowing himself from the bottom of his heart", and even suddenly realized: "I don't think today is yesterday", and even "saw" and realized for the first time in his life that he had done many wrong things before, but he didn't realize it at all, didn't know it, and never felt ashamed and repented; Now, because I have some Xu Guangming in my heart, I can use this Buddhist wisdom to shine on myself, see myself clearly, know myself, repent, be kind, improve myself, improve my wisdom, virtue and personality day by day,' self-expansion' is also shrinking, and persistent opinions are also decreasing, so my heart is becoming more and more aboveboard, and there is less friction between family, friends and colleagues when I get along with others. Therefore, whether at home or in the workplace, self-awareness has become more and more open, smarter and brighter, full of joy, vitality, vigor and friendliness, kindness and broad-mindedness. So, as the Buddhist scriptures say, because of the real practice of Buddhism,' everyone is happy' and I think there are more and more people. At the same time, because of self-opening, smart and wise development, work is getting smoother and smoother, and the whole personality and life have been completely changed, full of bright and cheerful hopes, no longer locked away all day, frowning, aging and depraved. This is the specific purpose and function of learning Buddhism, and it is also the purpose and function of practicing Zen-that is, to enhance and enhance our wisdom, so as to improve the methods and principles of living and doing things, so as to truly enhance our wisdom and quality of life and make people smarter, brighter and happier; It is by no means isolated, passive, retired or gloomy-that is a big misunderstanding of ordinary people, or people who don't really understand Buddhism; It is precisely because of this common misunderstanding and doubt that the truly great and bright wisdom of Buddha and Bodhisattva is gradually disappearing, and ordinary people are afraid of Buddhism and dare not approach it. These are disciples of Buddhism, especially Buddhist masters, who need to work hard to preach, advocate and improve. Only in this way can the wisdom of Buddhism be understood, accepted and enjoyed by all beings again, and gain great benefits. This is the real purpose of Buddhism, and it is also the most rational, brightest and greatest truth revealed by the master of the Six Ancestors of Zen in the Tanjing of the Six Ancestors, so that all sentient beings can' realize their consciousness' and achieve the highest goal of' seeing nature and becoming a Buddha'.
However, to reach the realm of understanding, we must first calm down; Therefore, in order to calm the mind, people who practice Zen must meditate (commonly known as meditation). There are many methods of meditation that must be learned. You can call it meditation, or you can call it meditation without breaking your legs casually. The most important thing is to learn and know how to' capture your heart' while sitting and calm your mind. This calm state of mind is called "stop" in Buddhism, which means to stop worrying, or to stop the restless "heart waves" or "heart waves" in the "heart lake"; Only when the "mind water" in the "mind lake" is calm can we see or truly show the image of the mind, as well as all the real images or "reality of dharma circles inside and outside, and these" dharma circles "will not be distorted or blurred in the mind water-this is the" seeing the image from the heart "in the realm of meditation; The action of "seeing reality from the heart" is called "view" or "view of wisdom" So, in a word, meditation is to sit there and collect your body and mind, so that your body and mind will stop and there will be no commotion, so you should "stop" (instead of just sitting there and thinking nothing, as Master Liu Zu said), just like a piece of wood. )' stop' means' set'. When you settle down, your mind will not be shaken casually, and then you can practice "observation", truthfully observe and see your body and mind and all the laws inside and outside, so as to truly understand all the realities. This is called "observing from the stop". After observing from the stop, practice "stop observation" at the same time, which is called "double luck from stop"; And if you are proficient in both aspects, you can achieve' equality in observation and speech' or' equality in wisdom and persistence'; If you reach the goal of equal intelligence, you will get Samadhi or Samadhi. Obtaining samadhi is the highest achievement in practicing meditation.
However, meditation samadhi itself is not the highest purpose of learning Buddhism ── the function of samadhi is that it enables practitioners to break through all' no beginning and no end' with the power of samadhi, thus truly realizing enlightenment: enlightenment from childhood, enlightenment, and even enlightenment.
But becoming a Buddha is not the ultimate goal in itself: after becoming a Buddha, we will teach other sentient beings according to our own practice experience and methods, so that everyone can realize their own self-nature and see the Buddha's nature thoroughly, thus becoming a Buddha-if Buddha and Buddha pass on each other, they will teach each other and measure themselves, and achieve unlimited consciousness from generation to generation, so that everyone can gain unlimited wisdom and happiness, and never give up this point in the future. This is the ultimate meaning, purpose and practice of Buddhism. Of course, this is also the theme of Six Ancestors Tanjing and Jue Yuan Jing.
The Six Ancestors Magic Tanjing is the supreme classic that all meditators or disciples have to study for more than 400 years. It is precisely because of the spread of this book that Zen took root in China and passed down from generation to generation for a long time. This is because the master of the Six Ancestors was enlightened by the Five Ancestors and prospered academically and religiously with his extraordinary wisdom and excellent times environment. Compared with his previous ancestors, his inheritance is particularly superior. Therefore, Zen Buddhism in China began with the master of six ancestors and developed into a wonderful flower in Buddhism. Its light shines all over China, and its influence lasts for thousands of years, and the enlightened monks and customs benefit immeasurably. Since modern times, China's Zen has naturally become the highest object admired and admired by people who practice Zen or study Buddhism all over the world. It's all because the master of the Six Ancestors, with his superb wisdom and convenience, revealed the highest and most direct beneficial method taught by the Buddha with the simplest words that are extremely easy for ordinary people to understand: the epiphany method of "pointing directly at people's hearts and seeing nature clearly".
Therefore, people who can hear, read and know this epiphany method, according to Buddhist scriptures, are people who hate robbery and are deeply rooted in good roots, so that they can come into contact with this karma, understand such profound Buddhism, and be able to correspond to it, especially in the last days when heresy is rampant, people who can hear such abstruse and difficult to understand and reach Bodhi are really rare, and should be thankful for themselves.
Master Cheng Guan went on to say, "Everyone knows that Zen is about enlightenment or enlightenment. Therefore, it is necessary for us to make a clear and thorough analysis of the so-called "enlightenment"; Because the so-called' enlightenment' word and realm can be said to be quite strange and vague to ordinary people; If you can't clearly understand its meaning, you will be easily misunderstood, misled and even confused. Moreover, the study of Buddhism, regardless of any sect, should be carried out step by step from "knowledge, enlightenment, practice and proof" before by going up one flight of stairs can be achieved. (because the biggest feature of Buddhism is' intellectuality' and seeking wisdom; Compared with most secular and heretical laws, half of Thailand resorts to sensibility. Therefore, if a Buddhist disciple wants to learn what he has learned without going the wrong way, he must have a considerable degree of "knowledge" and "understanding" of the Buddhism or discipline he has learned, and it must be "correct knowledge" and "correct solution" so that he will not misunderstand, misunderstand or even misinterpret the Buddhism he has learned; However, if you can become a scholar, you must have great blessings, be able to learn the truth, accept Buddhism and practice Buddhism. Otherwise, many contemporary people, for example, are too lazy to go out and ask for Dharma, and only "study Buddhism online" at home-read the scriptures, participate in various discussions or forums, and express their opinions, and don't know what to do. On the contrary, it has become one of the great obstacles to learning Buddhism brought by modern people's * * * industry.
In order to let everyone have a roughly correct understanding of "enlightenment" and not mistake him in the process of meditation, (I thought I realized it, but I didn't realize it; I believe some people say that he realized it, but he didn't, so he was confused, misled and even squeezed.
First of all, we should know that "enlightenment" has four levels, not just one: 1. Little enlightenment; 2. Intermediate realization; 3. Dawu; 4. Great Enlightenment (so-called "Enlightenment"). Let's talk about enlightenment first. A little enlightenment refers to a comprehensive and thorough understanding of a word (name) or an idea (concept) in Buddhism; You can not only understand its meaning, but also do it. This is called enlightenment. For example, the word "giving" has many synonyms in English, such as gift, donation, gift, relief and so on. Give is a noun, and its verb is give. Giving covers a wide range, including giving to the upper, middle and lower classes. Giving alms to the world is called "offering" in Chinese, and giving alms to people of the same generation or below is called "giving alms" or "giving alms", so it is often said in the scriptures that "giving to all buddhas and giving to all sentient beings" means this.
Secondly, the meaning of the word donation is relatively common, which usually refers to charity and poverty alleviation. For the church, it can also be said to be donation. Therefore, donation can be said to be used in a more equal position, even in a more antagonistic position, which contains compassion; This is very different from Stovall, who has a deep' faith and respect' when he' supports' the three treasures.
As for giving up, although it is also to give something to others, the main meaning of giving up is' giving up', which means that a yogi can give up his love for what he loves from the heart, so he can give it to others. Therefore, this kind of "giving up" can be said to be pure "giving up", without any attachment and without asking for anything in return; This kind of' giving up' can be said to be the most difficult and practical.
What must be mentioned here is that the so-called giving, or offering, or giving up must be something you like, love, useful, and preferably new; Instead of things you don't like, or things you don't use anymore, or useless things, it will take up space if you don't deal with them, and it will be a pity to lose them. If you put an old auction, it won't cost much and it will take a lot of time, so you will use it to support Buddhist temples or masters. If you kill two birds with one stone; However, that is' (recycling', not support; That is, Buddhist temples or Dojo are regarded as recycling bins or garbage bins, without sincere or respectful support. By the way, if you really want to support the three treasures and cultivate their merits, you'd better buy a new one. Don't buy a bag of food and eat it half before you use it to support Master or offer Buddha.
Because giving is the foundation of all good things, all good things in the world and all good things outside the world are all because of altruism, which is an "altruistic journey" to make others happy; The so-called' charity trip'; Even Buddhas, Bodhisattvas, and grandfathers have given Buddhism and its wisdom to all sentient beings because of altruism. Therefore, if there is no charity, there will be no good deeds in this world; Because everyone only pursues their own interests, regardless of others, and can even sacrifice others for their own interests. Therefore, it should be noted that this method of giving includes the compassion of the walker, that is, the so-called compassion for heaven and people, or what Mencius called' compassion for people'. You should have compassion in learning Buddhism. The so-called Buddhism is based on compassion: if you don't have compassion, no matter how you practice and learn more Buddhism, you will still be selfish. Although' selfishness' is taken for granted by many people in society, it is very common; However, people who practice Buddhism have no compassion if they have selfish mentality and no altruism; Without compassion, what you have learned has no foundation and is illusory, just like a castle in the air, because this person is selfish and self-centered, and no matter how he practices, he is still an ordinary person. It is impossible to really know, practice or even realize what Buddhism is and what wisdom is. Moreover, the truth of Buddhism is not only to know and understand correctly and profoundly, but also to do it: if you can know but can't, then Buddhism is just a verbal statement, which is useless to him-if the truth of Buddhism is only used for understanding and speaking, it will become what the Buddha said, "talking about drama", just talking about it orally. But these, according to the facts, are all secular people who regard Buddhism as a means to seek fame and fortune, which is of little help to the real Buddhist practice.
When we talk about "little enlightenment", we take giving as an example to let everyone know that if a person can understand the truth at all levels of giving and can do it in practice, it can be said that he has an understanding of giving; An enlightened person can enter his enlightened realm, because his enlightened realm has become something within his ability and a part of his body and mind, not just talking and teaching others. In short, the enlightened person can speak and act, and there is no mistake in interpreting and acting; Therefore,' consciousness' can be tested: if you only talk but don't do it, only ordinary people know; If you can talk and do, that is the realm of saints and consciousness. Besides, giving is a universal and basic virtue. Therefore, if you understand the "principle" of giving and can do the "thing" of giving, you can say that you have achieved giving. But because its scope is usually not very large, let's call it' little enlightenment'.
Then, after the "little enlightenment", let's talk about "middle enlightenment". As the name implies,' middle enlightenment' certainly refers to a higher level and a deeper and wider scope. This statement is abstract and not easy to understand; For example, understanding in China is like practicing forbearance. Forbearance means that you can calmly and calmly accept all world events, such as adversity, disaster, cataclysm, avalanche, even personal illness, physical and mental pain, and friends gathering. Always have a hard time with you, picking on you (resentment will be bitter), where will it go (love will be bitter), always unable to do what you want, always unable to get what you want (nothing to ask for), and even bitter to childbirth (bitter: drama of pregnancy, labor and childbirth), old age, physical decline, limb failure and mental decline. Old and sick can no longer help the world. If you say nothing, you can only live and wait for the moment of impermanence. However, at this time, all kinds of reluctance in your heart make you afraid of boundless ignorance of the future. What's more, if you are seriously ill, delayed, operated, given first aid, intubated, unable to eat, speak, urinate, make the bed, or even become a vegetable before you die, it will be infinite pain, that is, as the Tibetan scriptures say, at this time, the patient can't live, but he can't beg for death, which is really miserable. If you are sick, poor and lonely, and no one takes care of you, it will be even worse. In addition, even the hardships of interpersonal relationships, such as meeting inappropriate people, marrying inhuman people, parents being unkind, children being unfilial, brothers being unjust, friends being heartless and so on. Are common sufferings or troubles in the world. In these troubles and sufferings, if a true Buddhist practitioner has practiced forbearance, he can cope with or spend these sufferings in life with forbearance. Moreover, we must know that these sufferings are equal to all sentient beings, and no one can escape: no matter how rich, powerful and knowledgeable you are, you can't escape the suffering of all people in the world (the suffering brought by the big environment) and the suffering brought by personal "other karma": from the king to the son of heaven. Those who can' overcome' (transcend) these sufferings and are not shaken by them have no choice but to' endure' according to the Buddha's wisdom. And these "forbearance" behaviors are either gnashing their teeth, or although they are forbearing on the surface, they are complaining in their hearts and whispering: "Why me? ! "(Why me? It's like saying that you have cancer, and you shout in protest and say, "Why me? ! "(Why me? Why is life so unfair to me? Did God or God forget me and give up on me? I am deeply resentful, dissatisfied, unacceptable and unbalanced. When people suffer personal pain, they will say loudly, "Why me? ! "(Why me? ), that's like saying: you can't get cancer, it's unfair; It doesn't matter if someone else has cancer. ! It should be noted that according to Buddhism, all joys and sorrows are caused by their own karma, not by anyone, and not by the so-called "God's will". If it is caused by "providence", isn't this God eccentric, unfair, unequal and cruel? Why did he let the world he "created" stand by (this is just a myth)? If he is really "all-knowing and all-powerful", he should make them perfect and enjoy their life and existence when he creates everything, instead of making them suffer, suffer and worry, and finally die painfully. Why else did he create everything? Just for fun? (It's just like Lao Tzu's cynical remark:' Heaven and earth are heartless, and everything is a grass dog')-And how can such a distressed sentient being be called God's masterpiece? Therefore, according to the Buddha's wisdom, the life and death of all sentient beings, and even all their sufferings, are caused by their own karma (so-called karma traction), rather than the' almighty god' who can control and dominate everything-because all his masterpieces are actually of poor quality and have many defects (unsatisfactory quality control). It often makes him angry, angry and destroys part or all of those disobedient' masterpieces'-this is really unexpected for his old man's house. So we can see that the so-called "omniscient and omnipotent" (often lost) and "creating everything" can be said; It's just that the myth of a small ethnic group (with a population of less than several hundred thousand) in ancient times is full of contradictions, which is of no help to human happiness or even to overcome difficulties. Even because of its radical and xenophobic doctrine and allowing the right and wrong of the nation to be resolved by force (the winner stands for justice), for more than two thousand years, all mankind has been ravaged and frightened by many swords and shadows everywhere. This is because all people and outsiders in the world don't know and understand karma and its causal relationship. If you believe in explaining the truth of Buddhism and' endure' according to all legal practices, you can get through all the sufferings in the world. By the way, endurance comes from determination; To be patient, you must practice meditation first. The deepest meaning of' forbearance' is' immobile', which means' unmoved'; Because he can endure, his heart does not move with the external environment (does not' dance' with the external environment), so he can jump out or surpass the external environment and reach the realm of' physical and mental retreat'; If we can do this, it will be easier to' get through' (get through) even if we encounter some hardships caused by karma. This is called' suffering'. Because forbearance can make people suffer and leave suffering, forbearance is called a kind of' degree' (paramita). Paramita means' crossing to the other side', which is liberation after all. Those who practice Mahayana Bodhisattva must practice "Six Degrees" in order to help themselves and all sentient beings get out of the sea of life and death and reach the other side of Bodhi Nirvana. Because there are endless hardships in the six paths of life and death, it is not enough to just cultivate a "paramita". You must practice all six times before you can practice by yourself. The "forbearing paramita" mentioned here is higher, deeper and wider than the "giving paramita" mentioned in the first item above, so it has to be called "enlightenment".
Moreover, the endurance that Buddhists practice depends not only on their determination, but also on their correct understanding and confidence in the cause and effect of karma. Because I firmly believe that' all joys and sorrows come from the karma of all sentient beings', I suggest to you based on my personal experience: if you want to learn Buddhism and enter a higher and deeper' upright course', you must have a strong belief in Buddhism and deep confidence in Buddhism. Therefore, I believe that everything I get or encounter, whether good or bad,' I deserve it!' It's all my karma There is nothing to complain about, and I can't hope that it is not my own karma. And (this is more important): If you ask yourself if you are sincere, really hard, and really practice like Dharma, Buddha and Bodhisattva will certainly take care of you: if you practice so sincerely and wholeheartedly, if the bad karma you created in the past can be eliminated, Buddha and Bodhisattva will certainly take care of you and save you from the difficulty of dropping out of school or suffering from felony. If you practice sincerely, but you still can't escape suffering, you must be sure that it is because the karma you created in the past is too heavy, and all the merits and demerits that Buddha and Bodhisattva have cultivated are not enough to completely remove those karma and bitter karma for you, otherwise Buddha and Bodhisattva will violate the law of cause and effect, become ignorant, be self-centered and play with cause and effect like a heretic god. If Buddhists in Buddhism have correct views and beliefs, as the Diamond Sutra says,' pure faith gives birth to reality', if so, all Buddhists will protect their own ideas and practice the Buddha's supreme Buddhism, and they will be eager for quick success,' patient' and firm.
As for the third enlightenment, for example, the whole Mahayana Six Paramita Buddhism, or all the Buddhism in any one of the eight Mahayana cases, has been skillfully mastered, understood, interpreted and operated, and has achieved mastery and no obstacles, enlightened and benefited countless sentient beings, so that everyone can realize Buddha wisdom, stay away from stupidity, ignorance and greed, and enter the ocean of supreme bodhi. Such people can be called conscious people. People who are enlightened are all great bodhisattvas, saints and founders. Small enlightenment and middle enlightenment belong to sages.
As for the fourth "enlightenment", which is called "enlightenment" for short, it is the realm of Buddha; They can not only get access to all the multiplication and division methods, but also get the merits of infinite samadhi, ten powers, four fearlessness, four no obstacles to wisdom, eighteen no * * * methods and so on, as well as three bodies and four wisdom. Therefore, it is not easy to say "complete enlightenment" or become a Buddha.
In the last period of French law, people everywhere said that he was an enlightened person, or people often said to each other,' So-and-so has been enlightened.' Or' so-and-so proved that several of his disciples were enlightened.' How lucky are we in today's world? Can so many people become Buddhas? Still a living Buddha!
By the way, if you say that you are enlightened but not enlightened, or that others are enlightened (that you are enlightened), or acquiesce in others saying that he is enlightened and has magical powers without explicitly denying it, it is a' big lie' in the precepts, that is, breaking the precepts; Even if there is no meditation or magical power, he says (or implies) that he has meditation and magical power, allowing others to say that he is enlightened and magical, without explicitly denying it, or that he is the incarnation of Buddha, Bodhisattva and his father, or that he can communicate with Buddha and Bodhisattva, or that Buddha and Bodhisattva are awake in their dreams, or that he has been taught some methods in meditation, and so on. Again, why are they so confusing? Most of them are not seduced by fame, profit or even color, so they are unconsciously used by the devil, so they hurt themselves, lose Bodhi Tao, and fall into hell or magic Tao in the afterlife, as detailed in the Shurangama Sutra.
Master Cheng Guan said: "In the process of enlightenment, the first step is that the walker must remove external obstacles, which is by breaking the self-centered shell or by tearing down the walls or fortifications of the' self-castle'."
The second process of enlightenment is to remove the internal obstacles, thus freeing the self from the three poisonous hearts (greed, ignorance and ignorance).
The third process of enlightenment is that since the internal and external obstacles have been removed, the wisdom of Buddha can be smoothly introduced into the heart of the walker, so that the whole heart or ventricle is full of brilliance, and the whole heart and soul are bright and luminous, so that the walker can develop his mind and see his' heart'. This is the so-called' seeing nature', that is, seeing his' nature', such as Buddha. This is the essence and ultimate goal of all Zen teaching methods, or the whole Six Ancestors Tanjing, or even the whole Mahayana teaching method: that is to say, the main purpose of the teaching method of Buddha's generation is to enlighten and guide all beings to know their own nature and see that they are pure and pure. If you can see the Buddha's nature, the Buddha and the master of the six ancestors call it:' Seeing the nature and becoming a Buddha's way'.
Master Cheng Guan, after talking about various principles of Zen, then introduced the inheritance table of China Zen master. He said: "The first generation of Zen Buddhism in China was the founder of Dharma from the Western Heaven (India) (full name is Master Dharma), and then the founder of Dharma was closed to the Shaolin Temple in Songshan for nine years before being passed on to the second ancestor, Master Hui Ke; The wisdom of the second ancestor can be passed on to the master of the third ancestor; The third ancestor gave it to the fourth ancestor Taoist Master; Four ancestors gave it to Master Hong Ren, the fifth ancestor; Five ancestors gave it to Master Huineng, the sixth ancestor. After Liu Zushi learned the law, it was difficult to pass it at first. Later, because the world was peaceful and the royal family respected Buddhism (Liu Zushi died in the eleventh year of Zhenguan of Emperor Taizong (637~7 13), so the environment was rich, the academic freedom was developed, and the people were enlightened, so Liu Zushi was able to practice Buddhism in Dachang. His disciples are divided into two sects, one is the Zen master of Huaiyang in Nanyue and the other is the Zen master of Hangsi in Qingyuan. The descendants of these two great Zen masters developed into five schools of Zen: Lin Ji School, Luyang School, Cao Dongzong School, Yunmen School and Fayan School. These five cases still have descendants, especially Lin Jizong and Cao Dongzong, who flourished for a while, and these two cases later spread to Japan, thus making Zen also flourish in Japan and become a major pillar of Japanese Buddhism since ancient times. As for South Korea, the same is true. Monks came to China and got the inheritance of Zen Buddhism. After returning home, they will also preserve and carry forward the Tathagata's "true eye" (the essence of Zen inheritance). Most of these achievements were directly or indirectly accepted by the six ancestors of Zen in Han Dynasty.
There is no time to elaborate on the main points and techniques of meditation here. If you are interested, you can refer to three books by Master Cheng Guan, namely, The Sweet Dew of Zen, The Three Fingers of Buddha Nature, Into an Unbelievable Place and a lecture at Tiantai.
Master Cheng Guan finally said: The most important thing for us to learn Buddhism is to establish "right knowledge and right view", and to establish a firm "right belief" on this right knowledge and right view, so as to truly practice Tathagata. Moreover, after the establishment of "knowing the truth and believing the truth" and "believing the truth", we can see the extraordinary victory and greatness of Buddhism.
