Causes of carbon monoxide poisoning

Carbon monoxide (CO) is a colorless, odorless and non-irritating gas, which is not easy to be found after leakage, and it can easily cause acute carbon monoxide poisoning in human body under the condition of poor ventilation. In a closed or poorly ventilated room, eat hot pot and grilled fish with a charcoal-burning fire pot. It is easy to burn insufficiently, which will lead to the accumulation of carbon monoxide. Carbon monoxide can closely combine with hemoglobin in human blood, making it lose the ability to transport oxygen, leading to poisoning incidents.

Manifestations of carbon monoxide poisoning

The main clinical manifestation of carbon monoxide poisoning is hypoxia. Lighter people have headaches, fatigue, dizziness and difficulty breathing at work. If the symptoms get worse and the lips are cherry red, it can cause nausea, vomiting, confusion, collapse or coma. In severe cases, he was in a deep coma, accompanied by high fever, increased muscle tone of limbs and paroxysmal or tonic spasm.

Family rescue of carbon monoxide poisoning

1) immediately open the doors and windows for ventilation, and quickly move the patient to a place with fresh air circulation, stay in bed, keep quiet and keep warm. If you have false teeth, you must take them off.

2) Ensure the unobstructed respiratory tract, open the collar and belt of the patient, and tilt the head to one side for the comatose person to prevent the vomit from inhaling into the respiratory tract and causing suffocation; If the patient vomits, the vomit in the oral cavity and nasal cavity should be cleaned up in time to keep the respiratory tract unobstructed.

3) Patients with mild poisoning can recover after several hours of ventilation observation. Patients with moderate and severe poisoning should call the emergency center for help as soon as possible and be sent to the hospital for treatment.

4) If the heartbeat or breathing stops, give artificial respiration and cardiopulmonary resuscitation immediately, and send them to the hospital immediately.
