Tongcheng culture

Tongcheng is the birthplace and concentration of Jianghuai cultural circle. Culture is the most distinctive resource in Tongcheng, and it is also the most representative and influential resource in Tongcheng. There are more than 500 immovable cultural relics in Tongcheng, including more than 30 key ground cultural relics/kloc-0. Tongcheng is also rich in intangible cultural heritage resources.

There are many folk stories and legends represented by Liuchi Lane, thousands of folk songs, colorful folk customs, folk music works such as high tempo and Fan Shi gongs and drums, unique folk dances and folk proverbs, and folk crafts such as painting, weaving, carving, embroidery and paper binding.

In terms of poetry, there were more than a thousand people in Tongcheng in the Ming and Qing Dynasties alone, including nearly a hundred female poets. Another example is painting and calligraphy. The book "Anhui Painters" compiled by the Anhui Provincial Museum alone includes more than 30 Tongcheng painters/kloc-0. Fang Yizhi and Hu Zongxu are even more talented. They have made great contributions to literature, history and philosophy, natural science, painting and calligraphy.

Terrain: Tongcheng terrain is from northwest to southeast, and the mountains, hills and plains are distributed step by step in turn. The northwest mountainous area is the remnant vein of the eastern Dabie Mountain, which is mountainous and beautiful. Mid-hill, fan-shaped, gentle inclination; Southeast plains crisscross.

Hydrology: Rivers in Tongcheng crisscross, forming four major water systems: Dasha River, Tuoche River, Longmian River and Kongcheng River, which flow into Caizi Lake and then flow into the Yangtze River through Zongyangmen. The average annual surface runoff is 977 million cubic meters. The total amount of groundwater is about1.300 million cubic meters.

Climate: Tongcheng belongs to subtropical humid climate zone. Mild climate, abundant rainfall, abundant sunshine and distinct seasons are suitable for the growth of various crops. Due to the influence of topographic differences and monsoon activities, the temperature gradually decreased from southeast to northwest, and the precipitation gradually increased from southeast to northwest, showing obvious phenology.
