During the Spring and Autumn Period, there was a man named Zipi among the aristocratic officials of the Zheng State. He was the son of Zizhan, the ruling minister, and succeeded his father as the ruling minister. Qing is a famous virtuous minister and prime minister in the history of Zheng State. Among the descendants of Zipi, there are those who take the name of their ancestors as their surname, and are called the Pi family, which has been passed down from generation to generation to this day. This branch of the Pi family later developed into a prominent family in Xiapi County (now the old city of Xiapi, Pi County, Jiangsu Province), so it was also called the Xiapi Pi family.

Although this statement is also recorded in historical records, I think its credibility is average and I cannot be convinced. And according to the genealogy I can understand, there is no special mention that there is a distribution of Pi's family in Jiangsu and Zhejiang, but there is another large branch of Pi's family in Jiangxi.
