Lantern Festival, also known as Shangyuan and Lantern Festival, is decorated with lanterns in every household, and large-scale lantern festivals are held in many places. There are different opinions about the origin of the custom of burning lanterns in the Lantern Festival, and one of them is the one related to the spread of Buddhism to the east. Emperor Hanming worshiped Buddha, and Emperor Yongping worshipped Buddha for ten years (AD 67). Cai Cheng prayed to India for Buddha. Ming Di learned that Buddhism had the custom of observing Buddhist relics and lighting lamps to worship Buddha on the 15th day of the first month, so he ordered all the gentry and common people to light lamps in palaces and temples and "light lamps to show Buddha" to show their respect and piety to Buddhism. Since then, the custom of lighting lanterns on the Lantern Festival has spread from the court to the people. Since then, it has become a practice to play lanterns on the fifteenth day of the first month.

In ancient times, there was a monk, Dade, who talked about Zen and Yuan. The Legend of Jingdezhen Lantern, Volume 5, Biography of Sikong Mountain Benjing Zen Master, said: "On the fifteenth day of the first month (Tianbao five years), two famous monks in the street were called to learn Buddhism and went to the Inner Dojo to explain Buddhism to their teachers." Inner Dojo, also called Inner Temple, is a Dojo for practicing Buddhism in the palace. His Buddhist activities are mainly for the wishes and blessings of the emperor and the royal family. According to the altar sutra Xuanzhaopin, it is recorded that:

On the first day of the first year of Shenlong, then Tianzong and Zhongzong wrote a cloud: "I worship the Second Division and support it in the palace. You can get a ride every time you get a chance. The second division pushed the cloud:' There is a capable Zen master in the south who teaches the master to dress, seals the Buddha's heart and invites him. "Today, I sent an internal waiter, Xue Jian, to meet me with a letter. May Shi Cinian go to Beijing as soon as possible. "The teacher said he was ill and wanted to die in the forest.

This passage reveals three messages: First, the emperor saluted corporal, issued an imperial edict, and invited Master Huineng, the sixth ancestor of Zen Buddhism, to enter Beijing for consultation. Second, although Lao An and Shen Xiu were invited to the palace to pay tribute and were the teachers of the emperor, they did not denigrate Master Huineng in front of the emperor, but strongly recommended him. This is "if Buddhism wants to flourish, unless monks praise them." Third, Master Huineng was indifferent, knowing that he could not leave Caoxi base camp when Zen was not really prosperous, so he politely declined to win the favor of the emperor. Compared with some famous monks in contemporary Buddhism, there is no difference between running around the world of mortals and being lively. Master Huineng became a master Huineng because he could keep his duty. And those who rush to the world of mortals become fleeting because they forget their last names.

During the Lantern Festival, the monk Dade was invited to talk about Zen, which showed the enthusiasm of the royal family. [Song] Chao Fang Zen master Shang Yuan called Zen.

Master Chao said: "With more and more water droplets leaking from the copper pot, the arrow-shaped buoy with scale in the pot shows that it is very late, and everyone came back to reunite with their families on this Lantern Festival. For monks, time goes by and the night gets deeper, which is a good time to meditate and practice hard. Why did Jin Wu hesitate to release the ban? This is because the heart lamp of wisdom, like the lamp of the whole city, illuminates the world for you!

The Zen master said that there are three kinds of ginseng: big ginseng, small ginseng, early ginseng and late ginseng. The class is called Shen Da, and the rule is called Xiao Shen. Also called a mentor. "Zuting Shi Yuan" Volume 8: "When a Zen master goes to the hall, he is called an early participant. Back for a day, it is called night ginseng. The untimely saying is called small participation. " Small ginseng is an irregular small-scale saying. Monks in Zen Buddhism have the habit of participating in small ginseng on the first day of Yuan Dynasty. The phrase "Jin Wu will not hesitate to spend the night" comes from Su Weidao's famous sentence "The fifteenth night of the first month" in the Tang Dynasty: "Jin Wu doesn't stay overnight, and jade leaks." Buddhism takes the lamp of wisdom as its heart lamp. When the Lantern Festival lights up, the Zen master immediately appreciates the scene, and uses the Lantern Festival with fire trees and silver flowers to describe that the lamp of wisdom shines on the world. Buddhism is passed down from generation to generation, and culture is passed down from generation to generation.

Lantern Festival, the class said: Lantern Festival is full of lights, and all people are crazy all night. Everyone only sees the superficial phenomenon of Lantern Festival, but they don't know that the essence of Lantern Festival is the deep article of fire! Only by not knowing the lamp in your heart can you really light up the direction of life. Do practitioners know how to look inward and stare at each other? Everyone went back to the meditation hall, meditated and ate tea, and realized the true meaning of Zen in a cup of Zen tea!

Class: Lantern Festival is full of bright lights and busy horses and chariots. On the Lantern Festival, lights and candles are brighter than one, and cars are like running water in Ma Rulong. They have been partying until dawn. Do you know whether the lamp is a fire or just a few lamps? I didn't know that the essence of a lamp was fire. How many people can stare at the heart lamp of life? If we say this, it is similar to the lantern ball at the end of Yuan Dynasty, and (when it comes to the true heart lamp, it is just like the lantern ball at the Lantern Festival). (Exquisite in all directions, the lights look different) A little brighter, and the whole body is not ignorant. In fact, they all come from the same light source, and the whole body is full of light. There is no difference between the front and the back. The bergamot can never be covered, and the wind can't blow out. Even the bergamot can't stop the light, and even the robbery can't be blown out. ) As far away as Xingjie Ma, spring blossoms all the year round. (The chariots and horses enjoying the lanterns gallop on the thoroughfare and come to every household with joy in spring. ) In front of Fengle Building, the song rang at midnight. (In front of Fengle Building, at midnight, it is still the exciting singing of tourists. ) everywhere, the nostrils of ancestors are unknown to all living beings. There are founders' purposes everywhere, but how many sentient beings know? ) The head of the ancient Buddha's eyes, how many glances in the middle? The essence of the ancient Buddha is everywhere, but how many people with flying minds can understand it at once? )

Therefore, the Buddhas were born and spread to Eden. Father came from the west, and also spread this Yi Deng. (So when the Buddhas were born, it was this heart lamp that was passed on; Buddhism was introduced into China from the Western Heaven, which is also the heart lamp. ) Since Yi Deng, thousands of lights have scattered and the light is endless. (Yi Deng lights a thousand heart lamps, and the light of wisdom is endless. Therefore, no one says Buddhism, although wisdom can't. So, there is no plan for Buddhism, although you are extremely clever and difficult to understand. For example, a hidden treasure is invisible without a lamp. Like a hidden treasure, it is difficult to find it without a lamp. Treasure is the heart of all living things. (The so-called treasure is the heart of all beings) Those who are dark are the annoyance of all beings. The so-called darkness is the trouble of all sentient beings. ) He who makes lamps knows everything well. The so-called lamp is the knowledge of all goodness, which enables us to find our own treasure through speaking.

So much so that all Buddhist scriptures are in the form of words, making lights and candles for you, aiming to let you discover the treasure of life. ) Deshan is great to get started, you can drink it when you get started, and it is also a lamp and candle for everyone. (Deshan introduced a Zen master like raindrops, and Lin Ji introduced a Zen master like Thunder, which also turned on the light for you through drastic measures. ) Zhao, Lingyun Peach Blossom, is also Yi Deng as a candle for all. (The monk asked Zen master Zhao Zhou what Buddha was, and Zen master Zhao Zhou answered "cypress trees in front of the court"; Master Lingyun realized the Tao when he saw the peach blossom. Dare to ask everyone, age is nothing like a lamp, but a lamp. And this Eden, where did you get it? General idea: I found some meditators in the hut and sat in a circle to discuss the intention of Zen cases in ancient and modern times. " One said, "Why did Yang Qifang tell the Zen master that' Yang Qi's donkey has only three feet'?" One said, "Don't talk about it, tell me, why did the Tang Dynasty pine trees in Magu Mountain grow tall, big and winding?" He was reprimanded by the land god and said, "Why don't you guys look at the lights and talk nonsense in this place?"

If meditation is isolated from the rest of the world, and you live on ancient and modern Zen cases and collect saliva from your ancestors, you will never be enlightened. Those who participate in meditation might as well go to the Yuan Dynasty to have a good look at those lights and experience what they are and where they come from. Understand the Zen machine here, and you will understand the essence of Zen.

The words of Zen master Panshan are from volume 6 of the Shurangama Sutra: "The net aurora is accessible, and the silent light contains emptiness." This is the ultimate state of meditation. The first volume of Hokkekyo records that in the past, there was a monk who was incredibly robbed. The sun, the moon and the Buddha's light came like a Buddha, and he could preach the scriptures for all kinds of life, with far-reaching significance and ingenious writing, making it the highest perfection of the Buddha. Guangrui refers to the auspicious signs of the Buddha's witty remarks, most of which are full of light, called Guangrui. "Introduction to Hokkekyo" "I see light and Buddha, so does Ben Guangrui."

Five, [Qing] Huitai Yuan Jing Zen master Shang Yuan called Zen.

Last time at the end of the Yuan Dynasty, the teacher talked for a long time in class and said, "The meaning of the ancestors was clearly revealed. Who can bear it directly? " If you don't want to get through the first road, you fall into the second wall. Leaving the country has never been complacent, and there are many mistakes in the environment. I can't blame my birthday for leaving, and the gods who live in neighboring cities can't turn from scenery. And it seems that today's Shangyuan is also worth the spring, so that the happiness on earth is not exhausted. If the bright moon is in the sky tonight, the stars are shining, and there are Baise lights, infinite beauties, talented people and beautiful women coming out at the same time, Jin Wu can not help but be overjoyed. Don't wait for the human feelings to run out, the scenery in front of you has been sold out. When pride becomes loneliness, who here can feel impermanence? I comfort everyone now, so I can think it over. A person with a clear memory will have a lonely light, and he will light the Buddha in the sun and moon, especially to hide it from me. Let's look at today's Shangyuan Festival, and it's time for spring to return to the earth. People in the world are very happy here. Tonight, the moonlight is bright, the stars are shining, and the lights are shining each other. Numerous talented people and beautiful women are playing with literati, farmers and businessmen at the same time. Jin Wu, who is in charge of security, also lifted the curfew, so that everyone can forget the time and enjoy themselves. But, ah, before the tourists are exhausted, the scenery in front of them has disappeared, and endless loneliness and sadness are enjoyed in front of you. At this time, who can feel impermanence? Now I suggest that all of you stop wandering outside so that you can think carefully. When the worldly light disappears, there is still this bright and vivid light of wisdom left. When we don't know this bright and vivid light of wisdom, we will be deceived by the sun, moon and Buddha! Is there a Zen monk who is satisfied with his heart, ashamed and enlightened?
