In fact, it is not difficult to find the answer by reading "Re-repairing Pingdu County Chronicle".

During the Daoguang period of the Qing Dynasty, Han Baozhong, the magistrate of Pingdu, wrote a preface to this county chronicle. In the preface, he clearly explained the origin of the name "Pingdu" .

He said: "Pingdu is the name of an old county in Han Dynasty."

"Tongzhi" quoted "Shuoyuan", Mr. Lu Qiu said to King Qi Xuan, "I wish to select good officials and ensure peace and justice." The saying "I will live longer" means that the meaning of this passage is that the county name "Pingdu" existed as early as the Han Dynasty.

More than 300 years ago, a gentleman named Lu Qiu once said to King Xuan of Qi: "I hope that the king will appoint capable people as officials and implement the laws and regulations of all regions of Qi. Only by unifying the country and the country can the country be peaceful and the people be safe. The origin of the name "Pingdu" is "Pingfadu", that is, "the laws, regulations, and standards of governance must be fair and unified." mean.

Therefore, "selecting good officials and maintaining peace" not only became an important theoretical basis for King Xuan of Qi to govern the country and stabilize the country, but also a "historical warning" in the name of "pacification".

"Pingdu" as a county name was first used in the fourth year of Emperor Gaozu of the Han Dynasty (203 BC), more than 2,200 years ago.

The territory of its state administration changed several times, and it was only in the Ming and Qing Dynasties that it gradually stabilized.

The Tomb of King Kang is located among the Han tombs in Liuqu Mountain, Pingdu. There is a large mountain-like tomb, which the locals call the Tomb of King Kang.

There is a proverb that goes like this: "If you dig up King Kang's tomb, Shandong will not be poor." It refers to the priceless gold and silver treasures in King Kang's tomb.

However, to this day, King Kang’s tomb has still not been opened.

It is said that Guo Moruo suggested opening the tomb of King Kang during his lifetime because he had never forgotten King Kang after he found the tomb of King Jing Liu Sheng of Zhongshan in 1968.

The name of King Kang is Liu Ji. He is the King of Jiaodong. His posthumous name is "Kang" and he is known as King Kang in history.

His eldest son Liu Xian was still named King Kang by Emperor Wu of the Han Dynasty, and his descendants were hereditary.
