What is the attitude of scholars in Qing Dynasty towards Tongcheng School?

Tongcheng School was opposed by many people from the beginning, and most famous scholars in the Gan family period were different from it. For example, Qian Daxin's attack on the so-called "ancient prose meaning" is only a superficial theory, and Zhang Xuecheng specially wrote "Ten Disadvantages of Ancient Prose", emphasizing that writing should be realistic and natural. Some essays and letters written by Yuan Mei and Zheng Banqiao were intentional, which restored the charm of essays in the late Ming Dynasty to some extent, while Gong Zizhen's essays were even more bizarre, with novel and unique characteristics of the times and remarkable personal style.
