Development stage of sense of humor

Infant stage

The development of sense of humor begins in the first few weeks of a baby's life. When the baby is 6 weeks old, you can play hide-and-seek with him, cover your face with a handkerchief, and then quickly take it away, and the child will smile at you.

Early childhood

For babies before the age of 2, humor is based on physical disharmony. For example, a toddler wearing shoes as a hat will make him laugh with adults.

3 years old stage

3-year-olds will find pure language itself interesting. At first, he would find it ridiculous to call his name by mistake. For example, he will call his feet hands, his cat dogs and his mother father. Repetition also makes jokes more ridiculous.

3~4 years old stage

Children aged 3~4 will find that the disharmony of ideas will also make people laugh. For example, it is not ridiculous for a 3-year-old child to put a bottle in his mouth, but it is ridiculous for his father to do so.

5~7 years old

Children aged 5-7 have stronger language skills, gradually understand that many words have different meanings, and begin to say riddles with double meanings.

8~ 12 years old

Children aged 8~ 12, everyone has a lot of laughter to tell, and they are obsessed with ready-made riddles. Many children are proud that they can remember many riddles and jokes. It is often seen that the whole class knows more than telling jokes.

Stage over 13 years old

After entering middle school (13 years old), children's cognitive ability has matured, they can see symbolic disharmony, and the forms of puns and jokes have become more mature. These sense of humor has gradually become a positive classroom behavior and is regarded as a social talent.
