How is mental illness defined today?

Because of the accelerated pace of society and the increased pressure to survive in modern times, mental illness is indeed on the rise. But more of the results of the hype are just like contagion and epidemic. Suddenly the whole society is depressed and phobic. This is simply a joke. Our culture is not yet open enough to accept mental illness. Many people are unwilling to get psychological diagnosis, but they all become psychiatrists one by one. The definition of disease in psychology is that only when consciousness and behavior deviate from the normal range, unable to live and work normally, or affect others or even violate social rules, can it be defined as a disease.
