China established five nuclear power plants in 2009.

The national energy planner said here that five nuclear power plants will be built on Monday this year, and China plans to be in the eastern and southern regions.

The fifth project is in the coastal provinces of Zhejiang, Shandong, Guangdong and Hainan. The National Energy Administration (NEA) will be announced at a nuclear energy application conference.

On Sunday, sanmen nuclear power plant started construction in Zhejiang.

It is the first third-generation PWR. AP 1000 technology developed by Westinghouse Company of the United States was used in China, and it was the first to use this technology in the world.

First of all, the 1.25 MW unit is expected to start operation in 20 13 years. The factory will eventually have six such units.

"According to the construction and operation of the three projects, we will build more units with AP 1000 technology and introduce them into inland provinces," said Sun Qin, deputy director of NEA.

The management said that the first three mainland nuclear power plants in Hubei, Hunan and Jiangxi provinces may be approved by the end of this year or early next year.

Shandong Rongcheng Nuclear Power Station is five projects planned in 2009, and construction will begin in September.

According to NEA, the project has a power generation capacity of 200,000 kilowatts, and some fourth-generation nuclear reactor technologies will be designed and equipped in China.

Details of the other three projects were not provided at the meeting.

At present, there are 1 1 nuclear reactors and six nuclear power plants in Chinese mainland, all on the east coast, with a total installed capacity of 9.07 million kilowatts.

Of the 1 1 reactors, three used domestic technology, two used Russian technology, four used French technology, and two were designed by Canadians. 1 1 The reactors all adopt the second generation nuclear energy technology.

In order to stimulate economic growth, China plans to build 40 million kilowatts of electricity on the mainland by 2020, which is equivalent to 4% of the planned power supply capacity, or twice the current installed capacity of nuclear power.
