Jia Yingchun: What has been delayed in my life?

01

"I don't believe that my life is so bad!" (Chapter 80)

——This is the New Year's greeting for newlyweds, Chapter 80 A sentence I cried to Mrs. Wang when I was returning to Ning.

Her fate is indeed bad. She had lost her mother since she was a child, and it took her only a few years to have a clean heart with her aunt, but now she was half-sold and half-married by her father to the heinous Sun Shaozu.

——These are things that all readers can see and are displayed in the novel. But that's not the point we want to talk about.

The key point of this article is: If you knew how hard Yingchun worked to change his destiny, you would know - I don't believe that my life is so bad! ——How heavy is the weight of this sentence! ! !

I have always been indifferent to the Spring Festival. The reason is that her background-like presence makes it difficult to capture her silhouette.

Looking back at all the details related to the Spring Festival in "A Dream of Red Mansions", Ming Mu seems to always hide into the crowd intentionally or unintentionally, in a self-exile way. Gradually, this kind of second-hand existence made her become a dispensable blurred background. Then, it seems logical that others ignore her.

02

On the 15th, as if planned in advance, four water-onion-like people came to Rongguo Mansion: Xing Xiuyan, Xue Baoqin, Li Wen, Li Qi. They all had a background in poetry and writing, and all of them were very proficient in pen and ink. For a time, there were many more people in the poetry club.

Baoyu was so happy and overjoyed that he said: Now our poetry club is prosperous. It’s better to catch the sun than to pick it up. Tomorrow, on the 16th, a club will open, which can be regarded as catching the wind for everyone.

Tanchun said: Lin Yatou just got up, and the second sister fell ill again, and she was always in a state of anxiety.

Baoyu said: My second sister doesn’t write much poetry, so it doesn’t matter if I don’t have her. ...(Chapter 49)

This is the original quote from "A Dream of Red Mansions". It actually came from Baoyu's mouth. Didn't he always regard his daughter as a pearl, thinking that the born Zhong Lingyuxiu only loves his daughter?

In his mind, the word daughter is extremely noble and pure, even more honorable and unmatched than the two treasure names of Amitabha and Yuanshi Tianzun! You guys with bad breath and bad tongue must not use these two words abruptly. It's important. Whenever you want to speak, you must first rinse your mouth with water and fragrant tea. If you make a mistake, you will have to dig your teeth and pierce your cheeks. (Chapter 2)

He will cherish the peasant spinner girl he meets on the roadside; he will express his knowing admiration to the cousin who is wearing red clothes; he will make nonsense of Grandma Liu Mingyu, never forgetting it, even asked Mingyan to go to the countryside to inquire..., not to mention the sisters in the Grand View Garden.

He once said that even if he died for these people, he would be willing to do so! Zhi Yanzhai also said: Baoyu is of the "feeling without emotion" type. There is infatuation to show consideration for all the ignorant people in the world (Chapter 8 Jiaxu Meibiao).

But unfortunately, he forgot about his second sister who he spent time with day and night.

It is still understandable that other people ignore the Spring Festival. If even Baoyu can regard it as nothing, then you can imagine how far the existence of Yingchun's hidden form must be!

What I am more curious about is, what is the reason why the spring is like a shadow?

When Daiyu first entered Jia's house, the first impression that the three sisters Ying, Tan and Xi gave her should be that all three sisters were very beautiful -

The second sister Yingchun Quiet, gentle and approachable. The third sister, Tanchun, has a sparkling look in her eyes, and she has a poetic and poetic look, which makes people unforgettable at first sight. The fourth sister, Xichun, is just a little girl with pretty makeup! I have to admire Daiyu's extraordinary eyesight. With just one glance, she can hit the key points.

In "A Dream of Red Mansions", there are very few words left behind to welcome the spring. Her first poem was written during the Yuan Chun festival.

On the night of the Lantern Festival, the lights and trees in the Grand View Garden are all arranged. Yuanchun was guided by Baoyu to visit various places, and then returned to the main hall for a grand banquet.

She knew that all the sisters could write poems, so she ordered each of them to write a plaque and a poem, "Blaque of Openness and Joy" to welcome the spring, and the poem was as follows——

——Alas! This is called poetry! ? Although it rhymes, it is uneven but not neat. In the artistic conception, we can only see that the head is hidden and the tail is exposed, and there is no trace of the down-to-earth atmosphere of a well-known lady.

——This is the first time that readers realize that Yingchun is not talented in poetry.

The second time was when I guessed lantern riddles with the sisters in Yuanchun——

Outside the deep wall, the aftermath of the New Year was coming one after another. East Chang'an Street was crowded with people, noisy, and countless people. The lanterns are like stars pouring down, and the baths are blazing. The inner courtyard of the palace within the high walls was as silent as the stars. Yuanchun, who had just returned to the palace from his provincial relatives, was still immersed in the joy of the big family. So, a riddle was created and asked by the eunuch to give it to the sisters to guess. He also asked him not to say anything after he guessed it, but to just write it down on paper and send it in for the empress to check. At the same time, everyone is asked to pick up an object and make a riddle, hang it on a lamp, and let the eunuch take it back to the palace.

It wasn’t until evening that the eunuch came out to deliver the message: The former empress made it, but the second lady and the third master guessed it was wrong. Everyone else has already guessed. Those who guess correctly will each be rewarded with a palace-made poetry tube and a tea spoon. Du Yingchun and Jia Huan did not get it. Jia Huan found it boring. Yingchun thought it was a trivial matter and didn't mind.

For a long time, I have not understood what the saying "It's just a joke and I don't mind" in the Spring Festival actually means? Is this indifference, which seems to transcend the honor and disgrace of winning and losing, free and easy, or is it slow?

With this puzzlement in mind, new doubts arose in the process of reading... It was not until the 73rd chapter, "Tai Shang Induction", that everything suddenly became clear. It is like a key that opens the life history of the Spring Festival, dispelling the doubts that existed in the heart one by one.

After all, this is the only book that appeared in Yingchun's life. It is natural that it has attracted the attention of senior researchers. However, most of the understanding of "Tai Shang Induction Chapter" has always remained on the vague concept of this book, which is the so-called: there is no way for misfortunes and blessings, only people bring it to themselves. Retribution for good and evil follows you like a shadow.

I have also seen in some researchers' articles, such as the merits and demerits in "Induction", which have always influenced Yingchun's life. But I have never seen an article that clearly demonstrates why this book has such a profound impact on the Spring Festival; what is the trajectory of its impact on the Spring Festival?

03

Yingchun has had no mother since she was a child. Although she and her sisters grew up together with her aunt, she is the eldest sister among them. Guang Baoyu and Daiyu, the elder My wife is still in pain. Auntie is very busy, and she has so many younger brothers and sisters. Even though she is given a day of pure heart, Mrs. Wang is not a Bodhisattva after all, so how can she equally share the love for her children with each of them? No one could describe her worries.

She is not smart enough and has no talent in poetry and poetry. Therefore, she does not have the capital to show off her talents. If she wants to win fame, how can she win? They are also the daughters of the Jia family, all of them are outstanding, but she is not as good as them. I can probably imagine how urgently she wants to change!

If you think of it now, there will be an echo.

Finally, she encountered a strange book that could change her destiny - "Tai Shang Induction". I think she must have read "Liaofan's Four Instructions" written by Yuan Liaofan, which teaches you to standardize your behavior by studying "Induction", and to supervise yourself and your family to do one good deed every day, so as to change your destiny! So she was convinced. I don’t know when, all her actions were based on the good deeds in the book to accumulate merit for herself——

With the experience of the predecessor (Mr. Liao Fan), She firmly believes that good deeds can change luck. Therefore, in her lantern riddle poems, we see the poem "It is rare to have success but no luck".

Being untalented and unintelligent is an established fact. The only thing you can hope for is to make your destiny better by doing more good deeds, and maybe you can win back a victory.

At that time, the ladies of the world had very limited contacts. The only people who could allow her to practice this method were those closest to her. So in order to change her luck, she did not hesitate to put her life in their hands.

——This is probably what Jia Zheng felt when he guessed that her answer was abacus.

The abacus that touches Ru Ma and the troubled life. Being teased and plotted has become the main theme of Yingchun's life——

After moving into the Grand View Garden, the sisters were very bored. Tanchun saw that all the sisters could write poems and compose poems, so he started a poetry club to invite everyone to write poems. Yingchun knew that poetry was not his specialty, but he saw that others' gains should be treated as his own, so he did not disappoint the crowd and was invited to attend. He also happily became the vice president who only wrote topics and limited rhymes.

I have also read some opinions in some articles: they believe that the limited rhyme in drawing lots during the Spring Festival can be attributed to her non-positive attitude towards life. But I don't want to just think this. Drawing lots to randomly limit the rhyme version is a very common way of rhyming in ancient literati gatherings. It would be far-fetched to regard it as a negative attitude towards life. But being unwilling to put more thought into this aspect is indeed a sign of a weak sense of participation.

It is conceivable that he gradually faded out of people’s sight.

If you read Red Mansions for a long time, you will find many phenomena worth pondering. It is not surprising that the three sisters Yingchun, Tanchun and Xichun grew up studying together. Xichun has been motherless since she was a child, so it is not surprising that an old lady took her in and raised her. Mrs. Wang is Tanchun's legitimate mother, so it is natural for her to be raised under her knees. Although Yingchun has no biological mother, her biological mother is still there. The two houses of government and amnesty are only a bowl of soup apart, but Yingchun is not raised by Mrs. Xing. This is where things get interesting.

And what thoughts does this phenomenon bring to readers? Fortunately, she lived a clean life for a few years after living with her aunt (Chapter 80). How did her aunt, Mrs. Xing, treat her before living with her aunt?

That day, because the wet nurse was convicted of gambling together, Yingchun felt bored and felt uncomfortable, when she heard someone outside calling her mother to come. After the Spring Festival tea service, Mrs.

-- He should have said that you are bad, but now that he has broken the law, you should show your identity as a young lady. If he dares to disobey, just come back to me. Now I'm just waiting for outsiders to know what it means.

-- If he goes to let the boss go, he may talk to you and borrow some hairpins, rings, clothes and shoes as capital. You are so soft-hearted, so you may not be unreasonable to accept him. If I am deceived by him, I will not have any money. It depends on how you celebrate the festival tomorrow.

-- You didn't fall from me. Your brother and sister-in-law don't care about you. What does your life and death have to do with me? On the other hand, I have been childless and clean all my life, and I cannot make people laugh or comment on me.

……

——This is the scolding of several aunts. I wonder if there are kind-hearted readers who can understand even half of a mother's love for her daughter? Shishu's eyesight is so clumsy that all he sees is the shirking of responsibility, the scolding for hurting his family's face, and the joy that he has no children.

What kind of education method should this be! And this happens after Yingchun comes of age. Then how should Mrs. Xing treat her when her own mother had just passed away and she was still a girl?

Perhaps only those who know that Yingchun has such a mother can understand what her sentence "Fortunately, I have lived a pure life with my aunt for a few years" really means!

04

As her life unfolds, the deep-rooted influence of "Induction" on her can be seen everywhere——

Grandma Liu entered Rongguo Mansion for the second time That time. Jia Mu entertained Grandma Liu in the Grand View Garden. Yuanyang and Sister Feng intended to make fun of her. When Grandma Liu said in front of everyone, "Old Liu, Old Liu, he eats as much as a cow. He can eat an old sow without raising his head." Everyone present, except Baochai and Yingchun, laughed uncontrollably.

Baochai has her own maturity and poise. Is Yingchun's lack of response just numbness? Of course, this is also an explanation. But how can we see that this does not also follow the principle of "being lonely and compassionate" and accumulating good deeds for yourself that can change your luck!

lt;In "Golden Mandarin Duck San Xuan Ya Pai Order", Jia Mu, Aunt Xue, Xiangyun, Baochai and Daiyu all correspond to a paragraph of text after the order, which is also worthy of scrutiny——

p>

...Yuanyang said: "Four and five" on the left become flower nine.

Yingchun said: Peach blossoms are thick with rain. Everyone said: You deserve to be punished! It's the wrong rhyme, and it doesn't sound the same. Yingchun smiled and took a sip. It turned out that both Sister Feng and Yuanyang wanted to listen to Grandma Liu's jokes, and they were both punished for telling the wrong jokes on purpose. (Chapter 40)

Yingchun’s reaction was to take a sip with a smile. What did Mr. Cao mean to express: Was Yingchun the first to give the wrong order? Or was she the first to obey the arrangements of Yuanyang and Sister Feng and deliberately give the wrong order?

Using poems, lyrics and tunes from the "Four Books" and "Five Classics" to make drinking orders is usually a pastime limited to scholars. Jia Mu and others do not know how to do it and do not like it.

Even an illiterate girl, Yuanyang, could serve as the commander's toothpai order. It must have been a well-known entertainment method in that era. As Grandma Liu said, we bankers often do this with a few people when we are free, but it is not as nice as what we say. I must give it a try (Chapter 40). The order is so simple that even the illiterate Grandma Liu can match it. No matter how bad it is to welcome the spring, no matter how miserable it is, is it even worse than an old country woman?

Rather than saying that she was so talented, I am more willing to believe that this is because she deliberately followed the arrangements of Sister Feng and Yuanyang. Isn't this her "good nature"?

She respects the old and cares for the young. Even though Mrs. Xing has never been kind to her, she still does not forget to protect Mrs. Xing——

When Wang Zhu’s daughter-in-law came to beg Yingchun to plead for her mother-in-law, she said , because the wife evenly distributed Xing Xiuyan's one or two months' money to give to her parents, so for so long, they have filled it with at least thirty taels of chewing food. When Yingchun heard that the daughter-in-law expressed Mrs. Xing's personal thoughts, she hurriedly stopped and said: Come on, come on, come on. You can't bring the golden phoenix, and there's no need to make a fuss about it. I don’t want that phoenix anymore.

To welcome the spring, show mercy to others when they are in danger, rejoice in others' goodness, help others in need, and rescue others in danger. Her wet nurse knew that she had a soft-faced personality and was afraid of annoying people. She lost money due to gambling, so she took his tired silk phoenix to redeem the gambling money. She just said that the wet nurse took it for emergencies and would pay it back after a while. . Even if she didn't return it, she wouldn't pursue it.

Both Xiuju and Siqi asked her to ask her wet nurse to take it back, but she refused. It's just that her help and kindness directly led to the arrogance and indulgence of her servants. Zilingzhou has become the most unruly and chaotic place in the entire Grand View Garden. The slaves all dared to negotiate conditions with her and openly made loud noises in her room... Seeing that Yingchun couldn't stop it, he took the "Tai Shang Induction Chapter" to read.

In the book, Yingchun's forbearance and being bullied are everywhere...

Therefore, in Baochai's eyes, she has become a wealthy person who has not even taken care of herself. Very angry. In the mouth of Xing'er, the slave, she is a piece of wood who doesn't know how to make a sound when poked by a needle.

It’s just that all her efforts to change her destiny were not favored by fate, and she was eventually given to the evildoer by her father as a debt. No wonder she complained bitterly——

I don’t believe my life is so bad!

Isn’t it said that doing good deeds can change your destiny? But why have I been compromising my whole life and only taking pleasure in the joy around me? Why has fate treated me like this?

All her life she had been guided by "Tai Shang Inspiration". She originally thought that her shortcomings in talent and ambition could be made up for through changes in fate. In the end, she lost something and gained something. Sang Yu's ending. But it still ended up like this. So what are the "good deeds" she has done for half her life by giving up herself and always doing others' will?

This is the process of the collapse of values ??of a woman who is unloved.

05

It seems that in the novel, Yingchun only lived once in her life for herself.

After the crab feast, Xiangyun tied the poem titles one by one on the wall with a needle. When everyone was thinking about choosing the topic——

This moment that Cao Gong deliberately painted is For the first and only time in my memory, I felt the equality between Yingchun and other golden hairpins. At the same time, I also found the reason for her existence as the Twelve True Hairpins that I had forgotten for a long time.

For the first time, I was immersed in my own little world, happily doing what I was willing to do. Although it was only a moment, it was also touching because it was rare.

As Mr. Liu Xinwu said in his article -

At that moment in time and space, all her dignity was revealed, and because of her momentary behavior, the universe also revealed the profound reason for its existence. Already? The best literary works are always full of philosophical thoughts and always elevate the reader's spiritual realm to a religious level. In "A Dream of Red Mansions", Yingchun is by no means a minor character. Through her tragedy, Cao Xueqin still hits our hearts hard. He makes us think deeply about how to make people's lives on earth more reasonable and poetic starting from respecting vulnerable lives bit by bit. . Those modern young women who love "Dream of Red Mansions", who among you will mourn those beautiful and fragile lives of all ages, like welcoming the spring, as religious rituals, devoutly, in the sound of slow music? , use a flower needle to thread a string of jasmine flowers?

06

The ending of the Spring Festival is extremely miserable. The picture in front of her sentence is a vicious wolf chasing a beautiful woman, seemingly wanting to devour her.

The son is a Zhongshan wolf, and he will run rampant when he succeeds. The golden boudoir flower and willow quality will last for a long time. (Chapter 5) She died only one year after her marriage.

I think that on the night before her death, she could probably feel that the energy of life was rapidly flowing away from her body. The sharp pain in my body before was becoming less and less noticeable.

Yingchun was almost speechless.

As she lay dying, the stars in the sky flickered on and off, as if they were blinking affectionately at her, just like her mother's loving and gentle eyes. Thinking that she would see her mother soon, Yingchun felt excited. , a moment of sadness.

The starlight and night gradually disappeared in her eyes, just like the Grand View Garden that had fallen into a silent night, forever.

Yingchun stopped breathing.

She must have felt regret at that moment of her death, right?

She should hate "The Supreme Sense" for ruining her life. I hate that I have given up on myself so decisively in my life, but in the end I did not get a good result.

But what she may never know until her death is that kindness and good deeds are not the same as being a bad person.

Just like the three saints in the West who lead to bliss: on the left side of Amitabha is Avalokitesvara Bodhisattva, who represents compassion, and on the right side is Mahasthamaprapta Bodhisattva, who represents wisdom. That is to show the world that compassion must go hand in hand with wisdom.

True and complete good deeds are not conniving or accommodating, but doing good with a clear sense of right and wrong. Kindness without the foundation of wisdom is just foolish kindness. Not only can it not save others, nor can it bring blessings to oneself, but it also encourages the ignorance of others, which is of no help to the holy life.

However, Yingchun will never have the chance to know.

Additional notes:

I have occasionally read some fragments about Go in historical materials. It seems that in the Wei and Jin Dynasties, there was a "hand talk" in Go. ", "Wangyou", "Ziyin" and other nicknames.

As soon as you enter the chess game, half a day has passed before you know it. People often sit quietly in it, not only forgetting their worries, but even forgetting their own existence. This is called relieving worries.

The author assigns chess to welcome the spring, perhaps for this purpose.
