I don't speak Mandarin very well. Occasionally invited by some schools to give lectures on literature. If all the students here are from Shantou, I will speak in our Chaoshan dialect. I can speak Chaoshan dialect and feel better about myself; If you speak Mandarin, you will get a discount. I joke with them, too. I deliberately asked in Chaoshan dialect. Please raise your hand if you don't understand Chaoshan dialect, just like asking someone who didn't come. Of course, no one raised their hands. Then I said, since everyone can understand Chaoshan dialect, I'll speak Chaoshan dialect. Some students said, teacher, please use Mandarin. I said, I am not an ordinary person, and I can't speak Mandarin. Of course, this is a joke. Students, I said, "I am not an ordinary person and can't speak Mandarin". The problem with this sentence is that two "ordinary" are two different concepts. The former is an adjective, which means ordinary; The latter is a special noun associated with the modern Chinese standard language "Hua" based on the northern dialect. You see, Chinese is everywhere, and a joke also contains a lot of Chinese knowledge.

Besides not speaking Mandarin well enough, as a teacher, I have another shortcoming, that is, my handwriting is not beautiful enough. Students, speaking Mandarin well and writing well are superficial qualities, just like your appearance, which is not the most important, but often very important. When you go out to apply for a job in the society in the future, many people inside you will not see it at once. Some people will often shut you out because you can't speak Mandarin well and don't give you a chance to show your talents. According to the current conditions of recruiting teachers, our great writer Lu Xun will be eliminated at the first level. So then again, if you don't apply for a job in the future, but recruit, you might as well be tolerant and give each other a chance to fully show it, just like your school, and give me the opportunity to stand here.

To tell the truth, next, it's time to praise yourself. What are my advantages as a teacher?

First, I dropped out of high school after only one semester. If I can still be considered a talent, I may be said to be self-taught. I have a strong ability of self-study. Reading and studying are my interests. I am convinced that interest is the best teacher. I always think that a lot of knowledge comes from self-study and interest in books and newspapers. As a teacher, I always pay attention to the cultivation of students' reading interest and self-study ability.

Second, I have read many books and have rich knowledge. I have written many articles of various genres. Although I can't be a famous writer, I have accumulated some writing experience. All these are good for me to teach Chinese well. I also like history very much, and I can also teach it.

Third, this point may be overlooked by many people, but I have always attached great importance to it, that is, I have strong humanistic feelings. I have always respected the definition: the so-called language is language and humanity.
