How to get rid of "persistence" from the perspective of "law should be abandoned, let alone illegal"

Diamond Sutra: As far as I know, if it is a raft metaphor, the law should still be abandoned, let alone illegal.

Buddhism is like a bamboo raft on a ferry. Abandon the raft after crossing the river. Don't carry it all the time. Since Buddhism will be abandoned, let alone other practices in the world.

This sentence is actually to break our obsession. It is important to break the "self".

After the Buddha enlightened under the bodhi tree, the first sentence he said was related to "persistence". At that time, the Buddha said this:

All sentient beings have the wisdom and virtue of Tathagata, because they are obsessed with delusion and cannot be proved. Without delusion, there is no teacher's wisdom, natural wisdom, and everything appears.

The Buddha made it very clear: originally, all living beings had Buddha nature and could become Buddhas, but they could not become Buddhas because they never got out. If you can break this persistence, you don't need any teacher's teaching at all, and you will naturally achieve positive results!

How to break the "self-persistence" is the word "because of hard work, the fruit follows the fate".

There is a saying that "Bodhisattva is afraid of cause, but mortal is afraid of fruit".

I saw a joke on the internet, which should be based on a news about releasing cobras.

The joke goes like this:

There was a man who did all the bad things and worried that he would get what he deserved. When he went to an old monk, he asked himself what he should do to avoid retribution. The old monk told him that he could put more. Then, he bought some cobras and put them in the park. As a result, the cobra killed several tourists. When the man came to the old monk again, he was arrested by the police.

Although it is a joke, it also reflects the real phenomenon, that is, in order to seek a good result, we will release it blindly, regardless of the lives of others, which is often seen in the news.

As we all know, if we can't do it well in the world, where will there be good results? This is simply putting the cart before the horse.

In fact, this joke of releasing people is as persistent as some practitioners have to bring pots and pans when they go out to eat.

Because of hard work, the result will follow, that is to say, we should pay attention to the process, the process, not the result. The result is uncontrollable. What we can do is to do every step and do the process well.

To sum up, practice and growth are not tools to fill holes, nor are they used to gild one's face. Instead, we should do it, let go of the persistence and control of the results and focus on the process. That is to say:

Because of hard work, the fruit comes with fate. Joy comes from success, joy comes from failure!
