Apart from Zhu Yuanzhang and Judy, why are the emperors of the Qing Dynasty better than those of the Ming Dynasty?

The Qing Dynasty was the second unified feudal dynasty established by ethnic minorities in the history of China, and the Ming Dynasty was the last unified dynasty established by the Han nationality in the history of China. For the Ming dynasty, the Qing dynasty was their terminator, but for the whole Chinese civilization, we can't say that the Qing dynasty was the terminator. Although there are great similarities between Ming and Qing dynasties, it seems that Ming and Qing dynasties are more like two opposites of the same thing for later generations. Mingfen people always make arbitrary remarks, such as "the Qing dynasty was wrong for 300 years"; Powder cleaners don't buy the accounts of the Ming dynasty, thinking that the Ming dynasty was politically corrupt and dark, and the emperor was incompetent.

As a result, the two factions always fought against each other around the problem of "the Ming and Qing emperors were confused and mediocre." So, what prompted the Qing emperor to work harder than the Ming emperor? Let's try to analyze the reasons today.

The countries of the Ming and Qing Dynasties were basically the same, with the Ming Dynasty enjoying the country for 276 years and the Qing Dynasty enjoying the country for 268 years, with a difference of only 8 years. Emperor Zhu Yuanzhang of the Ming Dynasty 16, Emperor Chongzhen hanged himself in Jingshan Park. Generally speaking, the Qing Dynasty experienced ten emperors from the emperor shunzhi to Xuan Tong Puyi from 1644. According to the existing historical data, we can really draw a conclusion: the emperor of the Qing Dynasty was more diligent than the emperor of the Ming Dynasty, and even the puppet emperor Guangxu could show a kind of diligence and hard work. The emperors of the Ming Dynasty, except Zhu Yuanzhang and Judy, all gave people a sense of playfulness to some extent, such as Zhu Houzhao, Zhu Zaihou and Zhu Houzong, which were always criticized by later generations. In fact, there is a reason for this phenomenon.

The influence of patriarchal clan system. Historically, the Han people have always followed the traditional patriarchal clan system, and strictly observing this system will inevitably lead to dogmatism in choice. Whether the eldest son is clever or stupid, he should be regarded as a moral heir. As a Han nationality, the Ming royal family also strictly abides by this system. Then in the Qing Dynasty, although we tried our best to China ourselves, there were still differences on these issues. They finally established a secret storage system, and the emperor would choose the best one from many sons as his successor, which ensured that the future emperor would at least not be too bad as a crown prince.

Learn from the Ming dynasty. Any dynasty, especially the Qing dynasty, as an alien, must learn from the lessons of the previous dynasty's national subjugation in order to continue its rule. After the demise of the Ming Dynasty, many former dynasty veterans began to work for the Manchu government. These people were well aware of the disadvantages of the Ming Dynasty. Under the opinions and suggestions of these former dynasties, the Manchu government learned a lesson: a competent and diligent emperor played a vital role in a dynasty. But the problem is that ability is often difficult to change and cultivate, while knowledge and effort can be cultivated. Therefore, the Qing Dynasty was very strict in training princes, especially the Crown Prince. After strict training, it is difficult for the emperor to be lazy.

The ethnic structure is different. In the feudal society for thousands of years, central power and local power, imperial power and relative power have been in a state of change. Although the Ming Dynasty took many measures to strengthen centralization, imperial power and centralization reached its peak in the Qing Dynasty. It can be said that in the Qing Dynasty, all power was concentrated in the hands of the central government and the emperor. Such a state of power inevitably requires the emperor to do it himself. Once a certain aspect is not considered comprehensively, problems will arise, so the Qing emperor has no chance to be lazy.

The rule of ethnic minorities over the Han nationality. Although the Qing dynasty replaced the Ming dynasty with a unified minority dynasty, they were, after all, aliens. They rule the vast majority of Han people with a very small number of people, and there is always an anxiety and vigilance in their hearts. As the ruler of the emperor, on the one hand, he should strengthen the rule of the Han people, on the other hand, he should try to gain some recognition from the Han officials and people. This kind of invisible pressure is something that Ming Chengzu did not have.

Under the influence of these reasons, the Qing emperor had to show a more diligent state. Of course, both the Ming and Qing Dynasties are important parts of China's history. For future generations, it is the correct attitude to treat and evaluate the advantages and disadvantages of Ming and Qing dynasties objectively and rationally.
