The story of Tristan and isolde has been circulated in the West for thousands of years. It was also adapted into a classic opera of the same name by Wagner, and this time it was put on the screen. However, the princess's maid changed the poison into magic ecstacy. As a result, the affair turned into irresistible enthusiasm and love was completely released. They can put aside their fate, face the inevitable death enthusiastically and calmly, and their passionate and rich emotions burst out completely, pushing the whole story to a climax. Of course, movies and operas are different, the times are different, and the expressions of creators are different. But obviously, the purity and appeal of love in movies are limited.

The process and intention are very different, and the final outcome is of course different. At the end of the film, Tristan finally gave up love, joined the fight and died. One died for love, and the other died for his country. Everyone will have his own evaluation.

Love is not the only focus, but it has become the embellishment and helplessness of history. The film devoted a large part to describing hatred for the country and family. The background of the whole story is on the basis of resisting foreign aggression and seeking national independence. The background is enlarged, there are many traitors, intrigues and misunderstandings, but the scene and narrative are very simple. War scenes, even if historical facts are put in movies, are ridiculous. Hard shell is not as tragic as love epic. At the beginning of the film, little Tristan witnessed his father's tragic death, as if a hero had to grow up like this, and finally he had to die for the integrity of the country. The plot is set at will, lacking the center of gravity and necessary echo. All the characters are very stylish when they appear, but with the development of the plot, they all lose their individuality and waste James Franco's handsome face, which is both just and evil.

Outside is an epic costume shell, inside is a sad temptation, and there are attractive men and women, so there are many attractive elements in the film.
