Xiuer was not pregnant, but because she had not been able to get pregnant after marrying Chuanwu, her sisters-in-law laughed at her.

So Chuanwu’s mother asked Xiuer to pretend to be pregnant with Chuanwu’s child in order to prevent Xiuer from being laughed at. Chuanwu learned about Xiuer’s pregnancy from his sister-in-law, and he thought Xiuer was pregnant. After hanging out with other men behind his back, he became furious and wanted to drive Xiuer away. Later, Chuanwu's mother came forward and explained the reason.

"Crossing Guandong" was jointly produced by Shandong Film and Television Production Center and Dalian TV Station with an investment of nearly 30 million. It is a TV series planned by Wang Min, directed by Zhang Xinjian and Kong Sheng, written by Gao Mantang and Sun Jianye, and starring Li Youbin, Sarina, Xiao Songjia and Zhu Yawen.

The play tells the story of a Shandong family who was forced to leave their hometown and travel to Guandong from the late Qing Dynasty to before the September 18th Incident. Taking the complex and bumpy life of the protagonist Zhu Kaishan as a clue, it intersperses the various hardships and tests Zhu Kaishan's three characters and sons with different destinies encountered on the Guandong Road.
