My sports life

I heard a joke before: If a fat person wants to lose weight through exercise, he will become a strong fat person; if he wants to lose weight through yoga, he will become a soft fat person; if he wants to lose weight through diet, he will become a soft fat person. If you come to lose weight, you will become a dead fat man!

So, many fat people are like me. They give up dieting when they are on the verge of death and continue to be a living fat person with peace of mind!

In fact, I have always been a person who loves sports, but I don’t like to move! Until one day, I remember it was the spring of 2014, I decided to do something to save myself, so I started to devote myself to sports!

1. The sports I have engaged in over the years

Brisk walking: When I first started exercising, I started with brisk walking. It's said to be a fast walk, but it's actually not fast. It's just a little faster than usual (about 120 steps per minute), because I usually walk very slowly. Starting from the beginning of March 2014, I would go to the nearby HKUST playground for a walk after dinner in the evening. At that time, my mobile phone was not a smart phone, and I couldn't listen to music. I just walked, round and round, which was a bit monotonous and boring, but as I walked, I became more and more addicted. Sometimes I finished walking. I didn’t want to go home for an hour, I just wanted to keep walking like this, walking and walking, until June. Thanks to my sister, I got a smart phone, so I could listen to the radio on my phone while walking. Listening while walking, walking while listening, time seems to go faster, and walking seems to be lighter.

Cycling: I bought my mountain bike in early 2014. I was still living in the city center at the time. In the summer evenings, I would go for a ride on my mountain bike! Well, take a ride, because it’s really windy when you’re riding! I walked east along Yuhua Road all the way to Star Square, where many cyclists stop. Cycling is a very cool thing. I particularly like the feeling of riding a bicycle: traveling freely like the wind, breathing freely, and my thoughts are spinning with the wheels, flying to far, far away places! Very enjoyable! So I came up with a dream: carrying a camera on my back and riding a bicycle to a distant place! Use pictures to record every scenery, use words to record every mood, and use footsteps to record every journey! Under my influence, guidance and encouragement, there were three other people who bought the car: Xiao Leilei, Xiao Feifei, and Xiao Yuanyuan. It was just that the three of them seemed to have made an appointment to pay for the car after buying it. How to ride! (At this time, background music sounded: I have a little donkey, and I never ride it...)

Playing badminton: In fact, I learned to play badminton from my colleagues when I first started working (2011). After studying for more than half a year, because everyone was very busy, our badminton class was disbanded! I started playing badminton again (in the winter of 2014) because there were three gay men in our unit and we couldn't make up enough for four people to play doubles every time. By chance, I became their best choice! The first reason: I have plenty of time; the second reason: also a very important point, my football skills are not bad - to put it bluntly, it is quite adequate! (This is mainly due to the more than half a year I spent studying with my colleagues when I first started working.) So I changed from a "woman" to a "female man", no, a "man"! Because most of the time I play a male character! One side of the court is men's doubles, and the other side of the court is mixed doubles! The title of a play is very appropriate to describe it: Who says women are inferior to men! We would do this at least twice or three times a week, for two hours each time, and I would accompany him to the end! Until the court in our unit was demolished, our badminton team was disbanded!

Running: Actually, I have always resisted running! Since I was a child, running has been a very painful thing for me, because every time I can’t run a few steps, my mouth feels dry, my brain is deprived of oxygen, and my legs feel heavy. During that time, there was a classmate in the circle of friends who posted her running results every day. She ran for an hour almost every day. I was very curious about how she did it. In addition, I often saw some articles on WeChat about how good running is! So, I started running in the community at night! When I first started running, I always looked at my watch. Why did it only last a few minutes after running for a long time? But every time I can grit my teeth and hold on for at least half an hour! After about two weeks, I found that half an hour was not so difficult, and in the end I had the idea of ????just keep running like this without stopping, just like Forrest Gump! I feel a great sense of accomplishment when I see my daily running results recorded on the pedometer! Although I ran at a turtle speed, I originally wanted to jog.

If I walk fast, I may not be fast, but if I jog, I will definitely be slow!

Yoga: Actually, yoga is not exercise, which I didn’t know until later! I started practicing yoga last September and it feels great! I have always been a soft fat person, with a body that is more flexible than strong! So I can basically do most of the twisting movements in yoga, but when it comes to strength and balance movements, I give up! The content of yoga is vast and profound, and cannot be experienced in just one or two postures. For things I like, I am always willing to put more enthusiasm and energy into exploring them in depth! So I have another dream: to learn to be a yoga instructor! Firstly, your own practice level will be improved; secondly, you can use your spare time as a part-time coach to earn some pocket money! It feels wonderful just thinking about it! It's a blessing to know what you like to do and then have the time to do it!

2. What does exercise bring to me?

First of all, I lost weight! If someone doesn’t notice that I’m losing weight, they might be blind at some point! Bare teeth, Bare teeth, Bare teeth

Secondly, my physical condition has improved! In fact, most fat people are puffy, not weak! In the past, I would be exhausted if I had even a little activity beyond the scope of normal life, so I try to keep my life on the track of two points and one line, try not to go shopping and try not to travel! But since I started exercising, my mother no longer has to worry about my health! Walking for several hours is so easy for me! I wish I could travel all over the world, and feel that no matter how far the road ahead is, I am no longer afraid. I firmly believe that as long as I go step by step, I will reach the end!

Finally, I want to say that what exercise brings to me is not as simple as weight loss and fitness. It is a very happy thing to have a sport that you like and stick to it. Life is not just about the present, but also about poetry and the distance! However, if we have to succumb to the present complacency, then at least we still have sports (of course, reading, love, being moved, etc.)! I like to exercise, and I prefer to exercise alone. This allows me to spend time with myself. I can think about some people and things, or I can think about nothing at all. I can withdraw from life and work and just focus on the current exercise! Although my body is active, my mind is quiet! As Zhou Guoping said: "I withdrew from my true friends and false friends and returned to myself, only myself." Therefore, during exercise, my body became strong and my heart became peaceful! "It's very good at this time. There is no love, no resentment, no excitement, no worries, but you still feel strongly about your own existence and feel fulfilled. This feeling is very good." Forgive me for my lack of words, I can only I use Zhou Guoping’s words to express my thoughts. This is indeed my true thought!

It seems a bit far, but I sincerely hope that everyone will take action and experience the beauty of life through exercise!
