Then she went to the monk group, went to the market and publicly slandered Sakyamuni Buddha, saying that Sakyamuni Buddha made her pregnant. Many people believed it at that time, but the disciples of Buddha were so angry that they wanted to fight back. The Buddha stopped his disciples and faced all this with great compassion. Later, when the Brahmin woman passed the city gate, the basin on her stomach suddenly fell out, and everyone knew that she was lying, and the rumor was broken. During the decades when the Buddha preached Buddhism, many good men and women in his monk group were ordained to become monks, and they were also slandered by opponents, saying that he robbed his mother's son, made his wife lose her husband, and hindered the progress and development of the country. The Buddha has always been calm in the face of these accusations. He knows that all beings are strong and unpredictable. Even if you go all out to help all sentient beings and devote yourself wholeheartedly to all sentient beings, even if you treat all sentient beings well, all sentient beings will not be grateful for what they have done, but will repay evil for kindness and try their best to slander and scold us. How to face censure and slander? Buddha said: If the lion doesn't tremble because of the noise. As the king of the forest, the lion is fearless, and its nature determines that it will not be afraid of the roar of other animals. Therefore, in this world, when we hear despicable rumors, false accusations and naked comments, we should ignore them like lions. People don't need to waste time correcting false statements unless circumstances force you to clarify the facts. When your enemy sees you hurt, he will get a sense of satisfaction. This is exactly what he expected. If you are indifferent, such nonsense will be ignored. Whenever someone slanders or slanders the self-clan and related inheritance in front of the Bodhisattva, he always teaches his disciples by this: "If others slander our inheritance, our guru or ourselves, we should agree with what they say. When we say that everything he said is right, the other party has nothing to say. In this way, everyone will no longer burn themselves with hatred, and we can also take the opportunity to be humiliated. " As he spoke, he swore: "An angry person can't bear to swear at each other often, and it's hard to bow his head in shame. I hope to remember my oath. " At the sight of those who harm the Buddha and all beings, some people can't help but get angry and say indignantly, "What they did was outrageous." When the venerable master hears the news, he always exhorts them: "These people are actually very poor, so we should be extra merciful." He also said: "Those who harm others and themselves, those who harm Buddha and all beings, especially those who remember this savage, should initiate compassion." If praise for fame and fortune is beneficial, we must spare the interests, do not hesitate, and cannot return happiness to him with fierce sorrow. "Respectable people sometimes say," Whenever someone curses or slanders us in front of us, if we don't open our mouth to answer at this time, the other party won't feel disgusted. Of course, we will become patient and patient, and we won't make any mistakes. "If others harm themselves, if they answer blows with blows, both sides will be at fault."
