I think there are three reasons.

First, the metaphor of Liangshan heroes is seemingly harmonious, but in fact it is cheating.

Liangshan heroes come from all corners of the country, and everyone is a person with distinctive personality and belongs to a hero among people. After they went to Liangshan, although they rallied around Classical and Sung River, on the surface, they had a good relationship and were like brothers, but in fact they all had their own small plans, and no one was afraid of anyone and no one would obey anyone. So in Liangshan's view, it's no big deal that Li Kui jy's mother was eaten by a tiger.

Second, it embodies the idea that Liangshan heroes despise life and death and emphasize parting.

Liangshan heroes are all martial arts people, living a life of beheading and licking blood and getting used to life and death. For them, the dead are a common thing, and there is no need to pour too much emotion into it. Not only did Li Kui jy's mother die quietly, but even Song Jiang was later poisoned by poisoned wine.
