Why do people nowadays like to uncover the truth?

What can I say? I have never exposed anyone before, but once I was told by an old lady, who talked back and laughed at her on the spot. As a result, she speaks ill of me to others every day, which makes me nervous. . . There are two ways to expose people. One is constantly being attacked and laughed at by others and forced to protect themselves. The other is that they are mean and like to look down on people.
