Why can't children communicate in English normally after learning English for four years?

Children don't like to communicate in English for many reasons.

The first is personality. An introverted child doesn't like to express himself, let alone use English. Even if he uses Chinese, he may not be willing to express it.

Secondly, the encouragement of parents is very important. Whether in Chinese or English, parents should not oppress their children too much, interrupt them without reason, or even criticize them for expressing their desires. Therefore, encouragement is very important.

Furthermore, there is no environment for expression. You said that children don't like to communicate in English. The question is, who do you communicate with? Are your parents and friends willing to communicate with you in English besides English class? Nobody likes it. Isn't the child asking for trouble?

Then, it is a matter of interest. If communicating in English is painful, constrained or even reluctant, it is like being forced to finish your homework, and of course you will lose interest.
