Why is Stephen Chow's "Kung Fu" Douban score so low?

Personally, I have always trusted the scoring results of Douban. At least in the evaluation of a movie, there won't be much difference with my own evaluation, but Stephen Chow's Kung Fu has always been an exception in the evaluation of Douban!

I remember the first time I saw the score of Kung Fu in Douban, which was still 7.4. Personally, I always think Kung Fu is a valuable landmark masterpiece in domestic martial arts films, with a score of at least 8.5. Personally, I prefer more than 9 points.

Of the 57 films scored by Stephen Chow on Douban, only 9 have crossed the 8-point line, namely:

Wedding of the Great Sage on a Chinese Odyssey (9.2), A Chinese Odyssey in the Moonlight Box (8.9), king of comedy (8.5), Tang Bohu Lighting Autumn Fragrance (8.4), The Edge of Dreams (8.3), Happy Family (8.2) and Do-grade Sesame Officer.

Among them, Kung Fu scored 7.4 a while ago. Seems to have finally crossed the eight-point line. I don't know, but I was shocked when I checked. Kung Fu was released on February 23rd, 2004. In this long 13 years and 3 months 15 days (during which the 3D version of Kung Fu was released in 20 15), Douban rated it like a snail, and it was difficult to reach this 8-point line.

There are many people who cry foul for Kung Fu in Douban, and there are also many people who pay attention to the score of Kung Fu Douban. The popular short reviews and film reviews have finally shown high recognition and appreciation-time has proved that Kung Fu is indeed a great work and one of the best martial arts films.

Stephen Chow's works need time. When Kung Fu was released, word-of-mouth was seriously polarized. Those who praised it said it was the pinnacle of Stephen Chow's works, while those who criticized it said that Stephen Chow "ran out of talent in Jiang Lang" and could only make money by special effects.

What is a classic? Classics moisten things silently and unconsciously affect life. I don't care how I feel, but objectively and fairly, Kung Fu is a great work. Great works often just convey the truth of life that is ignored by everyone. Stephen Chow, the director, added his thoughts and understanding of life to the spoof "Zhou Wulitou". The movie is Stephen Chow's martial arts. I think the movie Kung Fu is very deep. I saw it for the first time at that time and didn't think much of it. The highest score is 6.5 points. I really don't think it's good. But after seeing some people's profound analysis of kung fu on the internet for the third time and the fourth time, my view of kung fu has completely changed, which is really classic. I think there must be several people like me, but there must be many people who have watched Kung Fu so many times and won't think it is a classic movie.
