What kind of movie is "Sherlock Holmes 2"?

I originally thought that this "Sherlock Holmes" would not be faithful to the original work - Sugarloaf played Sherlock Holmes! He's not even British! Jude Law plays Watson! He is simply too handsome and honest! The series of action scenes in the trailer are also very different from the gentlemanly flavor of the original work. When I walked into the theater, I was fully expecting to see a joke.
