Looking for polysemy in Wenzhou dialect

Take the word "big" for example. Wenzhou dialect has at least five pronunciations. When reading the sounds of "dá" and "dóü", they both mean big, but in the specific context, the meaning will change very strangely: "A dá" is his father or his father's brother, while "A dóü" is the eldest of the brothers. If written, they are all "Ada". Another example is "boss", which is pronounced as "old dá" and refers to the driver who sails or paddles, while "old dóü" is still the eldest of the brothers. For example, the pronunciation of "da" in Daguan is the same as the word "di" in Wenzhou dialect, so people often translate "Daguan" into Mandarin as "sweet potato", which becomes a joke. In fact, "big official" means father-in-law in Wenzhou dialect, that is, the husband's father.
