Is there really a suicide note from Wu Mu? Has Yue Fei written any other books?

Yue Fei was killed in Shaoxing in the 11th year (1 142) and was rehabilitated by Song Xiaozong twenty years later. It was not until the fifth year of filial piety in Xichun (1 178) that Yue Fei was named "Wu Mu" by posthumous title. Yue Fei wrote a book called Wu Mu's suicide note. Isn't this a joke? The seal script of King Ewang was made in Song Ningzong's time, so the prototype of Wu Mu's suicide note "Outline of King Yue Wumu's Martial Arts" was definitely not written by Yue Fei.

1986, Le Jin, the 27th descendant of Yue Fei, participated in the National Folk Wushu Performance Conference and won the gold medal with Yue Jiaquan, making Yue Jiaquan reappear in the Jianghu. The following year, Le Jin donated the ancient manuscript of Yue family's boxing cheats, the so-called "Wu Mu suicide note", to the country. Le Jin personally copied a copy of Wang Wuyi's Essentials in Yue Wumu, and introduced the essence of Yue martial arts with nine expositions. This book was also passed down as a real "Wu Mu suicide note". This is actually a stunt of hype. This secret book of Yue family martial arts introduces the technical characteristics and practice methods of Yue family boxing and guns, as well as the introduction of Yue family martial arts. This has nothing to do with the "Art of War" in the novel. From the content, it is more appropriate to say that it is a "secret book of martial arts".

The "Wu Mu's suicide note" written by Jin Yong refers to the military book summed up by Yue Fei's life experience in the army. Because its combat targets are mainly Jin fighters, this art of war is very suitable for resisting the invasion of Mongolian troops. Therefore, in the novel The Legend of the Condor Heroes, both the Prince of the State of Jin and the people in the Central Plains fought for Wu Mu's suicide note. The name of Wu Mu's suicide note is also from Jin Yong. As for whether there are any works of art of war left by Yue Fei in history, there is no mention in official history, romance novels and folklore, which shows that the widely circulated "Wu Mu's suicide note" was written by Jin Yong!

Due to the reputation of Wu Mu's suicide note, Yue Jia Quan donated by Yue Fei's descendants was named as the prototype of Wu Mu's suicide note. You know, Jin Yong's Legend of the Condor Heroes was first serialized in the Hong Kong Commercial Daily in the 1950s, and the Yuejia Boxing Spectrum was rediscovered in the late 1980s. On the premise that the official history is not recorded, unofficial history does not mention it, and the family history is kept secret, Jin Yong's literary creation is entirely the result of Mr. Jin Lao's rich imagination. When Yue Jia's boxing score was exposed to the public, the prototype definition of Wu Mu's suicide note was putting the cart before the horse.

As for Yue Fei's real legacy, Jin Tuo's Nazi compilation is the most detailed record. After Yue Fei was rehabilitated, his third son, Yue Lin, began to collect information in order to overcorrect and dialectically explain his father's distorted history. However, Yue Lin died before finishing the book, dragging his second son, York, the grandson of Yue Fei. York collected Song Gaozong's imperial edicts, court orders, Yue Fei's watches, battle reports, poems and other materials. At the same time, he compiled the truth of the past and the whole story into two books, The Collection of Nazis in Jintuo, Hubei Province and The Continuation of Jintuo, Hubei Province.

When historians study Yue Fei's deeds, they mainly refer to four historical materials, namely, History of Song Dynasty, Compilation of Northern Alliance in Three Dynasties, Records of Years Since the Establishment of Yan, Compilation of Jin Tuo Nazis. Due to political factors, historical revision dates and geographical restrictions, there are many omissions in the first three books, so this Family History compiled by York is of great historical research value. Today, most of the hot discussions around Yue Fei are caused by this book. For example, was "Man Jiang Hong" written by Yue Fei, because Yue Fei's posthumous work was recorded in detail in the Collection of Betty Wong Family compiled by Jin Qi Nazis, but "Man Jiang Hong" was not among them, which led to the debate between the pros and cons.

There is no dispute that the inheritance of Sun Tzu's art of war in Wu Mu's suicide note did not appear in Jin Shu Nazi Compilation. After all, Yue Fei fought in the battlefield all his life, even if he had the heart to write a book, he might not have time. The revision of ancient books is a time-consuming and labor-intensive project, but some actual combat generals have compiled their combat experience into books. For example, Qi Jiguang, an anti-Japanese hero of the Ming Dynasty, left two books, namely, Ji Xiao Shu Xin and Lian Ji. The former summed up the experience of anti-Japanese in the southeast, while the latter summed up the experience of training in Yuji Town. The background of the book is garrison nature, with high stability. However, Yue Fei's life-long fighting experience was mostly long-distance conquest, which was unstable. This mode of fighting is not suitable for writing books at all. Furthermore, Qi Jiguang lived to be 60 years old, and Yue Fei was killed at the age of 39, leaving Yue Fei with only the time to resign angrily and go home.

To sum up, it is possible for Yue Fei to write his own boxing as a secret book, which is different from the requirements of Sun Tzu's Art of War and can also be used as a guiding scheme for Yue Jiajun's daily training. However, the ancient art of war can not be completed in one day, but it needs years of war accumulation, and then concentrate on compiling it into a book. Yue Fei obviously does not have this condition. More importantly, Yue Fei's writing has no historical records, so "Wu Mu's suicide note" is just a masterpiece written by Jin Yong, not a fact, and there is no corresponding way for the so-called prototype.
