Can smelly socks repel mosquitoes? (I’m not kidding)

Before that day comes, you can accumulate a few pairs of smelly socks and store them away from yourself. In summer, when mosquitoes follow the carbon dioxide you exhale, they are likely to get stuck in the smelly socks. (Then spray it with mosquito killer, haha, the world will be peaceful! But if it doesn’t find anything to eat, will it fly out again?)
