In recent years, in the land of China, respecting Confucius to read classics and opposing the law have become more and more hobbies of some people. There are some articles that encourage teenagers to read Confucius, and from time to time they hear some measures to promote teenagers to read Confucius. The annual sacrificial caves in Qufu and other places are getting bigger and bigger, and the specifications are getting higher and higher. Sacrifice to Confucius, deliberately retro, Kong Fu Kong Li, Kong Le Kong Qi, Kong Xiang Kong Paper, Kong Jiu Kong Yan, a little pious and serious. As treasures, the existing Confucius temples in various places are being carefully maintained and protected; Most Confucius temples that once existed and are said to exist are under reconstruction or reconstruction plans. Some of this may be done to develop tourism and hope to earn some money from Confucius. If so, it is understandable. If there is also the purpose of patriotism education for young people, it seems even more commendable. However, some people do this in order to invite the deceased of Mr. Kong Lao again to worship and guide their actions. It is not uncommon to see articles about the significance of Confucianism in newspapers and magazines today. As for seminars and symposiums, I often hear them. According to the telegram, more than 200 scholars recently gathered in Beijing to "hold a two-day seminar on Confucianism". Scholars attending the meeting hope to find prescriptions from Confucianism, avoid social conflicts and safeguard world peace. Other scholars said at the meeting, "This is not just academic thinking, we need to put it into action." In other words, these officials and scholars are not satisfied with just talking, but want to start action. Of course, people will wait and see how they act.

At present, China society is indeed facing many contradictions. Among them, especially the contradiction between the corruption of party and government officials and the people's desire for honesty, and the contradiction between the rich and the poor, these two contradictions are really prominent; If it is not done well, it may indeed lead to social crisis. When it comes to these two contradictions, they are not unique to China today. In the history of China, although the specific content is different in different historical periods, it is a fact that these two contradictions appear repeatedly. At the same time, Confucius and Mencius' thoughts have been highly praised by the rulers since Hanwu, China and the founding of New China. This fact clearly shows that Confucianism cannot solve these contradictions. Moreover, looking back at the history of China, we can draw a conclusion that the more we advocate respecting Confucius and reading classics, the more corrupt the officialdom and the darker the society, the closer the dynasty will be to being overthrown. It can be said that this is a rule. Now, in the face of the above social contradictions, some people are not looking for the real reasons of these contradictions, so as to prescribe the right medicine, but want to solve the social contradictions in China by respecting Confucius again. This is just a pipe dream.

Confucius and Mencius thought, or Confucianism, or Confucianism, was indeed brilliant in China. Today, some individual remarks made by Confucius and Mencius are still useful. Such as "never tire of learning, never tire of teaching", "keep pace with the times", "wealth can't be lewd, poverty can't be moved, and powerful people can't bend" and so on. However, the dominant aspects of Confucius and Mencius' thought are conservative, such as benevolence, benevolence, love, Jun Jun, ministers, father and son, life and death, wealth in the sky, three fears of gentlemen, people can make it without knowing it, the doctrine of the mean and so on. More than 2,000 years of history has proved that these thoughts of Confucius are a magic weapon to protect the body for corrupt officials and rich and powerful people, but they are spiritual opium for the exploited, oppressed and bullied people. The most basic thing in Confucianism is to ask people to respect "benevolence" and believe in "fate" when they are brutally oppressed and exploited in various ways, rather than resisting and fighting, and to resign themselves to fate. Because of this, Lu Xun said that although Confucius was held higher and higher by the rulers of past dynasties, he was finally held to such a frightening height as "the king of propaganda and the saint of great achievements". But Confucius has always been a saint of the powerful and the rich, and has nothing to do with ordinary people Lu Xun's words are not out of date, and they are still worth remembering and pondering. In fact, historically, Confucianism has always played a role in deepening social contradictions when social contradictions are prominent. In today's social conditions, it can only be so. Because of the contradiction between the two sides, corrupt officials and rich and powerful people never preach according to Confucius' "benevolence" and "moderation", but suppress corruption and reduce exploitation and oppression of the people; On the other hand, people's endurance is always limited, beyond which they cannot survive. They had no choice but to resist. All previous peasant uprisings have been like this. Don't people who are scholars know such historical common sense?

It is said that at this recent seminar, an authoritative gerontologist said, "Only when the country is strong and science and technology are developed can we talk about higher goals, and the continuous strengthening of China's national strength provides favorable conditions for carrying forward and spreading Confucianism." Faced with such remarks, people can't help asking: "Why is the old China underdeveloped in science and technology and weak in national strength?" From the ideological point of view, Europeans have the Renaissance movement, ideological emancipation, scientific and technological development, and strong economy. With the Meiji Restoration, the Japanese people's thoughts were liberated, resulting in advanced science and technology and strong economy. What do people in China have? China people "ousted a hundred schools of thought and respected Confucianism alone", Zhu Cheng's Neo-Confucianism, the imperial examination system and the iron bucket of Confucianism were used by court officials to collect toilets for folk women. Said that foreigners' guns turned out to be useless, trying to resist the jokes of western powers. Faced with the imprisonment of Confucianism, any progress, including science and technology, is impossible, let alone a strong national strength. It is precisely because of this that the sages of the May Fourth Movement shouted "Down with Kongjiadian!" Cry. People can't help asking: "Why has science and technology developed day by day and national strength become stronger since the founding of New China?" It is because the ideological field of new China is guided by Marxism-Leninism and Mao Zedong Thought, and it no longer blindly respects Confucius and reads classics, thus lifting the tight imprisonment of Kong Laoer Thought (but it is definitely not "buried underground" and no one deliberately buries it). As a result, science and technology have gradually developed and national strength has become stronger and stronger, so there is such a situation today. Now science and technology have just developed and national strength has just become strong. Some people have forgotten the pain, and they want to take this opportunity to pull out the Confucian undead again. Is it necessary for Confucianism to imprison another set, so that China can feel at ease after being beaten again? This is really questionable.

Regarding the search for "strategies to deal with international relations" from Confucianism, it is said that a professor-level figure said at this seminar that "Confucianism is committed to seeking the golden mean, but in fact it is to maintain balance" and Confucianism "helps to reverse the current geopolitical imbalance in the international community." Facing hegemonism, power politics, unilateralism, terrorism, extremism and national separatism. Confucius's "golden mean" really has so much magic, can it reverse such an unbalanced situation? Tell those who engage in hegemony not to engage in hegemony, tell those who engage in terror not to engage in terror, tell those who engage in ethnic separatism not to engage in separatism, tell those who engage in extremism not to engage in extremism, and tell the Japanese right-wing forces to face up to the history of aggression and stop being enemies with China and Asian countries ... To be honest, I'm afraid Kong Old Master Q himself feels wronged. Because he himself once lamented that "the deceased is like a husband", it can be seen that although he has always been stubborn and cling to the retrogressive goal of "rejuvenating the country and destroying the country, achieving unparalleled success and benefiting the people", after all, he understands that times have changed and things have changed. In today's China, in today's world (a world he never even thought about), if he wants to rectify and help with his moldy theoretical system, I'm afraid he knows that he can't. It is better to go back to history, go to the Confucius Temple, the head of the three religions, sit on the throne of "King Wenxuan, Great Sage" and enjoy some incense and tributes. As for the troubles in the world, let's leave them to future generations to deal with, so as not to handle them badly and be laughed at "who is smarter?" Therefore, I also advise those officials and scholars who are committed to respecting Confucius and reading classics to learn from Confucius and let this old gentleman go. This will be more beneficial to Confucius, the country and yourselves.
