Judging from the traditional way of treating monarchs, there were indeed many bad monarchs in the Ming Dynasty.

In fact, the Ming history was written by the Qing emperor and those unscrupulous literati, and its authenticity is naturally questionable. Many good deeds done by the monarch and ministers in the Ming Dynasty for the country were obliterated and tampered with by the tyrants and traitors in the Qing Dynasty. How many emperors in the whole human history have been so courageous? Besides the executioners Nuerhachi and Huang Taiji whose hands were stained with the blood of the Han people, which Manchu emperors personally went into battle to kill the enemy? Fortunately, however, the tyrants and pseudo-historians of the Qing Dynasty forgot to change the word Wu in posthumous title. This is the real history that we can glimpse from posthumous title.

In governing the country, the Qing emperor was also weak, and Qianlong could only run around. Jiaqing knew from the beginning that the property of corrupt officials was his own, and Daoguang knew from the beginning to make peace with foreign insults. Xianfeng is a joke that cruelly exploited the domestic people.

However, Emperor Hongwu recovered the mountains and rivers in the Ming Dynasty, Emperor Yongle was in Mobei, and the people were blessed by Ren Xuanzhi. Emperor Jingtai saved the day (among which Yu Qian contributed more). Wu Zongying's nemesis, Qin Long's switch conforms to the general trend, Wanli's three signs protect his family, and Chongzhen's grief is still a martyr. From the traditional point of view of treating monarchs, many monarchs in the Ming Dynasty were indeed among the ranks of bad monarchs. Such as orthodoxy, Chenghua, Zhengde, Jiajing, Wanli and so on. Or the northern expedition, military losses, the country almost collapsed; Or doing nothing; Or deviant; Or religious alchemy; Or not early all the year round. So why did the Ming Dynasty last for 276 years despite so many traditional bad emperors?

In fact, it depends on the ability of the monarch, and it depends on the territory.
