"I gave it to a poor old woman," he answered.
"You are a good boy," mother said proudly. "Give you two cents. But why are you so interested in that old woman? "
"She is a candy seller."

Six-year-old John is spoiled. His father knows this, but his grandmother dotes on him. He hardly ever left her side. When he wants something, they cry or lose their temper. Camel is his first day at school and the first day he left his grandmother's loving arms.
