Mean Centipede

There lived a snail in the bushes in the mountains. Every day, when I see a centipede passing by here looking for food, it will come up to greet it.

In this way they met and became friends.

The snail is kind-hearted and taciturn, while the centipede is pushy and arrogant. Centipedes have many arms and legs and can move quickly. No matter what they do, they can finish it before sunset. The centipede looked down upon his friend, thinking that it had no legs, was slow in movement, and had to be busy all day long no matter what it did. However, the snail always gives way to the centipede. No matter what the centipede asks it to do, it always tries its best to help; whatever delicious food it finds, it always shares it with its friends. One of them is eccentric by nature, while the other is good at toleration, so despite their different temperaments, they can still get along in harmony.

Once, when the market day was coming, the snail asked the centipede to play together, and suggested a competition with the centipede to see who could get to the market first. Centipede, who always looked down on his friends, laughed when he heard this, but he still agreed. Since it is a game, there must be victory and defeat, and there must be rewards and punishments for winning and losing.

The snail said: "Whoever loses has to carry the winner."

The centipede said: "Whoever wins can eat the loser's flesh."

The centipede's words were so harsh, but the snail happily nodded in agreement. After agreeing on the terms, the two friends parted ways.

The night before, the snail quietly crawled to a woodcutter's pile of firewood and slipped into a bamboo tube without anyone noticing. The next day, at dawn, the woodcutter cooked bone broth noodles for guests, picked up the firewood, and set off. When he came to the market, the woodcutter put down his load of firewood, and the snail got out of the bamboo tube and climbed slowly to the intersection of the market, waiting for his friend.

The centipede lost, and the snail wanted to eat the centipede's meat according to the conditions agreed before the game. The centipede knew it was in the wrong, so it became angry and rushed forward to beat the snail. The snail laughed, and hurriedly stepped aside and explained to the centipede that this was just a joke, how could he really eat his friend's meat!

The centipede regarded this failure as a shame, just like adding a snail to the centipede. I feel sick every day like a heart attack. It tries every possible means to play tricks on the snail and will not stop until the snail makes a big ugly appearance.

Centipede thought hard for many days and finally came up with a clever plan. It asked the snail to study medicine together, and the snail agreed. After they discussed it, they started to compete.

On the way downhill, the snail retracted its body into its shell and rolled down quickly until it reached the foot of the mountain. Then it got out of its shell and climbed up the mountain calmly. At this moment, the centipede was crawling desperately. It felt that it was definitely winning this time, so it had already thought about a few words and was ready to ridicule its slow-moving friend.

Suddenly, the centipede caught a glimpse of the snail climbing up the mountain from the bottom of the mountain calmly as usual, and was stunned. Just listen to the snail say: "I have learned and come back!"

The centipede didn't believe it, and begged the snail to give it medicine. The snail was so embarrassed that he had to spit out his saliva for his friends to see. Unexpectedly, the centipede curled up involuntarily and couldn't crawl any more. Several of its legs stained with saliva immediately fell off. Only then did it panic and willing to admit defeat.

Since then, no matter where the centipede crawls, as long as it sees traces of a snail crawling, it will immediately turn around and find another way. It seems that centipedes are afraid of snail saliva.

Nowadays, if someone is bitten by a centipede, he can just crush the snail and apply the snail meat to the wound, and he will be cured immediately.

Centipede and snail are good friends. However, the centipede runs faster because of its many limbs and often laughs at the snail. Although the smart snail defeated the centipede twice, it was still very humble to it. Despite this, Centipede is still not satisfied, what a ruthless guy! However, the saliva of a snail can subdue the arrogant and vicious centipede. Isn't this a fair thing?
