The hidden meanings of various homophones in Dream of Red Mansions, classic couplets and the disaster of Qin Keqing’s family destruction

The names of the characters in The Red Mansion are basically homophones and metaphors, such as Jia Zheng (fake truth), Jia Baoyu (fake treasure jade), Zhen Shiyin (truth hidden), Jia Yucun (false language village language) and what else. When the words "chun" are combined, it means "Yuan Ying Tan Xi" (original sigh), and even the words for some small figures such as Jia Zheng's retainers are homophonic for "Zhang Guang", good at deceiving people and so on.

There are actually many classic couplets. The ones in the Grand View Garden, the ones in Keqing’s bedroom, and the Rongxi Hall. Even the couplets for family temples and the like are all given according to types, and they are all quite good.

As for Keqing's family destruction, according to research, Keqing should actually be the orphan of the deposed prince. He was eventually reported by Yuanchun. Yuanchun was promoted to concubine but Keqing died.
