In the new textbook for the fifth and upper grades, the comprehensive study of Chinese language is divided into independent blocks and forms a unit of its own, which shocked me even more. Facing this section with the theme of "Traveling in the Kingdom of Chinese Characters", I fully felt its rich connotations and profound implications. As the interpretation deepened, I became even more impressed by the long history, miraculous evolution, and strong artistic fusion of Chinese characters. I deeply realize that if we want students to feel the fun of Chinese characters, understand the wonders of Chinese characters, and appreciate the beauty of Chinese characters, this will be an excellent opportunity. Therefore, I took this opportunity to launch a series of discussions, assumptions, practices, and reflections related to comprehensive Chinese language learning and "traveling in the kingdom of Chinese characters".

1. Plan earlier

At the beginning of the semester, we conducted a more in-depth study and discussion of the research theories of comprehensive Chinese learning. In this plan, I made detailed plans for the specific activity time, content, and form of the students.

Reflection: In view of the breadth of the content of comprehensive Chinese learning, the activity of form, and the flexibility of the process, we need to make overall plans for the corresponding themes; and in view of the autonomy of children's inquiry when conducting comprehensive Chinese learning Sex, adequacy of cooperation, and participation of all members are key factors, so we need to arrange in advance so that the children can fight a prepared battle. Looking at the new textbooks for the entire primary school level, it is not difficult to find that independent comprehensive learning units like "Traveling in the Kingdom of Chinese Characters" appear from the upper level. The middle and lower sections mainly appear in unit introductions, after-school exercises or Chinese gardens. Therefore, the practice of "planning early" is also extremely important in middle and lower school grades. If we can plan in advance to combine this activity with Mother's Day in May and Father's Day in June, wouldn't it make a series of activities more realistic? 2. Collect a wider range of topics

Based on the long preparation time required for comprehensive Chinese language learning and the relatively independent characteristics of the "Traveling in the Kingdom of Chinese Characters" section, the teaching time is adjusted to Two weeks after the National Day holiday, this will not only help students use the relatively free time during the holiday to collect information, but also connect the learning and appreciation of Chinese characters with the month of October, which has this special meaning, so that the patriotic passion can be infused in teachers and students. After such preparation and operation, students have indeed gained a lot. What we mean by "extensive" is, first of all, the long collection time. To ensure the richness of information, students must be given enough time to search and accumulate. You can rely on newspapers and books, you can ask relatives and friends for help, you can try to get involved in society, or you can explore the online world. Collecting through multiple channels not only makes it possible for children to reach the same destination in the end, but also makes their harvest more exciting; finally, "collect more widely" also means collecting more skillfully. 4. Explore more realistically

Reflection: When teachers talk about comprehensive Chinese learning, they may be more attracted by the word "comprehensive", but they often ignore that the essence of comprehensive Chinese learning is "Chinese". We should improve students' Chinese ability and Chinese literacy through interesting Chinese activities. Like this, around each theme, through a series of fresh, lively and in-depth activities, students' listening, speaking, reading and writing skills can be improved, and their innovation ability and collaboration awareness can be strengthened. We believe that "exploration" must be highlighted in order for comprehensive Chinese language learning to have its due value. In other words, only activities whose goals are closely related to Chinese, whose form embodies Chinese, and which fully allow students to feel the charm of Chinese are truly comprehensive Chinese learning activities.

5. Reflect and be more diligent

Student section: During the whole activity, some of the children wrote about what happened during the collection of information, some wrote about the process of feedback information, and some organized They recorded interviews and some wrote down their learning experiences.

Reflection: Some people say that reflection is the awakening of growth, the dialogue of life, the improvement of wisdom, and the sublimation of thought. Through reflection, we have a deeper experience and better understanding of comprehensive Chinese language learning, which also allows our experience and theories to be reconstructed and integrated, paving the way for future teaching.

In this learning process, the children experienced fun, enjoyed success, had a taste of sharing, and first explored the mysteries of Chinese characters.
