Homophone imitation words
In comparison with existing words, replacing a certain word or morpheme in the word and temporarily imitating new words are called imitation words. Imitation words formed from words with similar sounds are homophonic imitation words. For example: First line: Ten thousand taxes in the Republic of China; Second line: The world is too poor! "Long live" is copied from "ten thousand taxes", and "taiping" is copied from "too poor". This couplet profoundly exposes the darkness of the Kuomintang's rule.
Homophonic hidden words
Use existing words that people are familiar with, deliberately hide the word, and only say other parts. People can understand the speech as long as they make associations from other parts. People's original intention is called Tibetan words. Tibetan words composed of homophonic words are homophonic Tibetan words. For example: First couplet: two, three, four, five. Second line: six, seven, eighty-nine. Horizontal batch: north and south. The word "one" in the first line, the word "ten" in the second line and the word "thing" in the horizontal line are all hidden. The real meaning is lack of clothes (one), lack of food (ten) and no "thing". This couplet alludes to the poverty of people's lives at that time and expresses dissatisfaction with the social phenomenon of inequality between rich and poor.
The homophonic palindrome
The meaning of a palindrome is that it can be written down by reciting it in reverse order. A palindrome composed of words that sound similar to each other is a homophonic palindrome. For example: First couplet: Paint lotus and monk painting. Second line: The book is written in the Han Dynasty. Here "Shang" and "Shang", "He" and "He", "Lin" and "Lin", "Han" and "Han" are all homophonic, so the pronunciation of the characters in the upper and lower couplets are the same whether they are read sequentially or backward. It can be called "absolute".
Homophone substitution
Replacing words with similar sounds is called homophone substitution. For example: Emperor Qianlong of the Qing Dynasty once made a play with the literary genius Ji Yun. Qianlong said: Two plates of beans; Ji Jun replied: One cup of oil. Qianlong changed his mind and said: What I meant was - two butterflies fighting; Ji Yun responded: What I meant was - a gull swimming. In the couple's play, "die" and "die", "dou" and "dou", "ou" and "gull", "you" and "you" all have the same pronunciation, with the same pronunciation but different meanings. The homophonic pronunciation of special shapes is very neat, making it very interesting to read.
Pun homophony
Using words with similar sounds to intentionally make a sentence have two meanings at the same time. On the surface, this meaning actually refers to another meaning. This other meaning Meaning is the true meaning of what is said, so homophonic puns are linked from the superficial meaning to the deep meaning. For example: First couplet: There is a cluster of gardens in front of you, whose village is it? Second line: There are several lines of large characters on the wall, which Chinese book? "Zhuangzi" in the first couplet is a homophonic pun. One refers to the manor, and the other refers to the philosopher Zhuang Zhou during the Warring States Period. The word "Hanshu" in the second line is also a homophonic pun. One means "written by Hans" and the other refers to Han writing. In addition, there are also taboos on homophony, continuation of homophony, etc.
