"The Romance of the Gods: Gods and Demons" The Great War - Collected Literature"

Editor's Recommendation

"When a country is about to perish, there must be monsters." The legendary "Fengshen Yanyi" has unconstrained fantasy.

The lecherous King Zhou, the terrifying Pao Lao, Nezha appearing in a lotus body... Each story has a fascinating plot and is very splendid. The author will give you the greatest surprise in reading!

Summary of content

"The Romance of the Gods" is a long novel about gods and demons in the Ming Dynasty. The book was written around the Longqing and Wanli years, slightly later than "Journey to the West". It is generally believed that the creation of this book was obviously greatly influenced by "Journey to the West". There are two authors: "Xu Zhonglin" and "Lu Xixing" claims, but no conclusion yet.

What is this novel with a hundred chapters in length about? The literary master Lu Xun put it very penetratingly, saying it was nothing more than "taking advantage of the disputes between Shang and Zhou Dynasties to write his own fantasy." It is generally believed that the author is based on the historical events of the Shang and Zhou Dynasties, and even the Song and Yuan history books "The Ping Hua of King Wu Conquering Zhou", and then absorbed many folk legends and added his own fiction to deduce the work.

Although in the evaluation of ordinary people, the ideological and artistic achievements of "Fengshen Yanyi" are far inferior to "Journey to the West", there are still many highly imaginative and extremely fantasy stories in "Fengshen Yanyi" A highly readable chapter, the story of Nezha (commonly known as "Nezha Trouble in the Sea") can be said to be the essence of the book and must-read.

In addition, the stories of Lei Zhenzi and Jiang Ziya are also very interesting.

Abstract

Drama literature has been shining brightly in the field of Chinese literature since drama scripts began to be published in the Yuan Dynasty. Dramatic literature can be said to be a peculiar flower that cannot be ignored in the world of Chinese classical literature and art.

In this book, we have selected ten representative stories from Peking Opera, Kunqu Opera, Huangmei Opera, etc. There are tragedies and comedies, but the so-called comedies are not the same as those in modern dramas. In a ridiculous and funny way, the tragedy is not completely despairing and desolate, but there is also hope in it. This is obviously due to the long-term influence of Confucianism, which believes that good and evil depend on each other and pays attention to the golden mean, so comedy and tragedy are not so completely separated.

"A Dream of Red Mansions: The Immortal Love Tragedy - Collected Literature"

Editor's recommendation

"A Dream of Red Mansions" is the best work in the history of Chinese classical novels. Cao Xueqin used her own life experience as material to create this widely circulated and popular masterpiece. For more than two hundred years, the emotional entanglement between Jia Baoyu, Lin Daiyu and Xue Baochai has become a household name. This book mainly presents the touching love story of Lin Daiyu and Jia Baoyu. The author uses a delicate style of writing to portray lifelike characters in depth, writes about the feudal society, the sadness of being unable to control matters of marriage, and vividly describes people's true feelings and nature. It is worthy of reading by the majority of readers.

Summary of content

What this book presents is mainly the love story of Lin Daiyu and Jia Baoyu; this is an immortal love tragedy.

If you mistakenly think that "A Dream of Red Mansions" is "just" the story of Lin Daiyu and Jia Baoyu, that is of course a big mistake, but I believe no one will deny that the story of the two of them is indeed in "A Dream of Red Mansions" It is an extremely important paragraph and can even be regarded as the backbone of the whole book.

The content of "Dream of Red Mansions" is really rich, including architecture and garden art, clothing, utensils, food, medicine, music, fine arts, opera and entertainment, philosophy and religion, etiquette and regulations, and customs of the year. , not only are they all touched on in the book, but they are also described in a clear and detailed manner.

As for the characters, the author Cao Xueqin wrote more than 400 characters in "A Dream of Red Mansions" (equivalent to the total number of characters created in all Shakespeare's dramas!) Among them, people like Lin Daiyu and Jia Baoyu, There are at least dozens of characters with very distinctive and vivid images and personalities according to conservative estimates! The grandeur of "A Dream of Red Mansions" can be seen from this.

The author Cao Xueqin, whose given name is Zhan, whose courtesy name is Mengruan, and whose nicknames are Qinxi, Qinpu and Xueqin. He has an extraordinary life experience, coming from a prestigious aristocratic family. Three generations of his great-grandfather, grandfather and father served in the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Qing Dynasty and have been hereditary in Jiangning weaving for sixty years. During the Yongzheng period, his father was unfortunately dismissed from his post and his family was confiscated. The Qianlong dynasty suffered another huge change, and the Cao family fell into complete decline. Because Cao Xueqin personally experienced the vicissitudes of a declining aristocratic family, he was able to present all aspects of the feudal system in the old society so delicately and vividly.

What Cao Xueqin wants to write about is the great tragedy of an enviable big family, which was originally prosperous and wealthy, but later fell into decline due to the conviction of family members and even had their homes confiscated, and finally their prosperity came to nothing; this great tragedy It is composed of the tragedies of many important characters, and the love tragedy of Lin Daiyu and Jia Baoyu is just one of them. However, as mentioned above, their tragedies are extremely important in "A Dream of Red Mansions".

Therefore, presenting the story of Lin Daiyu and Jia Baoyu as the main focus seems to "narrow" "A Dream of Red Mansions", but it should be able to appropriately convey the main spirit of "A Dream of Red Mansions".

The tragedy of the two of them began in feudal society. Marriage matters were always decided by the parents, and the children themselves were not qualified to make the decision. Jia Baoyu's father ordered him to marry Xue Baochai, so he had to marry her, even though he actually liked Lin Daiyu in his heart. The inability to control major matters in marriage eventually led to the tragedies of Lin Daiyu, Jia Baoyu and Xue Baochai; and this love tragedy and the rise and fall of the Jia family happened to be mutually reinforcing and complementary.

"A Dream of Red Mansions" first began to circulate in the mid-18th century, and soon became popular throughout the country. Although there are many criticisms of the feudal system in the book, the book was still widely circulated among the feudal literati at that time, and there was even a proverb like "If you don't talk about "Dream of Red Mansions", it will be in vain to read poetry and books."

The value and significance of "A Dream of Red Mansions" are multifaceted:

It is the best work among Chinese classical novels.

This is the first time in the history of Chinese classical novels that "the author creates based on life materials, especially his own real experiences and feelings." Many scholars believe that because of this At one point, "A Dream of Red Mansions" can be said to have entered the field of modern novels.

Just because "A Dream of Red Mansions" is so rich, so broad and profound, studying "A Dream of Red Mansions" will become a science. However, one thing that should be particularly emphasized is that the author of "A Dream of Red Mansions" we are seeing now is actually not only Cao Xueqin, but also another very important author, that is Gao E, who was slightly later than Cao Xueqin.

When Cao Xueqin first started writing "A Dream of Red Mansions", he was very young, less than twenty years old. He spent ten years and went through five additions, deletions and revisions. However, when he died, "A Dream of Red Mansions" actually only had eighty chapters and became a incomplete manuscript. It was less than thirty years after Cao Xueqin's death that Gao E and others compiled, supplemented, and printed the last forty chapters written by unknown authors, making it one hundred and twenty chapters.

The tragic story of Lin Daiyu and Jia Baoyu was completed according to the clues of the first eighty chapters. It is generally believed that it should be quite consistent with the part created by Cao Xueqin.

Even to this day, many companies will list this book as one of the "must reads" when training administrative personnel.

The critical period for the writing of "The Romance of the Three Kingdoms" was the Song and Yuan Dynasties, which were full of conflicts between ethnic groups and classes. Therefore, Liu Bei, who carried the banner of "reviving the Han Dynasty", symbolized the Han nationality's political power and entrenched Cao Wei in the north symbolizes the "usurper of the orthodox regime"; "respect Liu and demote Cao" has become the main central idea of ??"The Romance of the Three Kingdoms".

"Fables: Wisdom of the Ancients - Collected Literature"

Summary of content

This book contains 63 famous and profound Chinese fables. It dilutes the dense texture of human nature with the charm of words that transcend time and space. "The north wind and the sun are arguing about who is more capable?" - This is the beginning of the story.

Reading classic fables allows us to discover the dazzling light of the living world reflected by the immortal wisdom of the ancients.

In addition, what is presented in this book is the original spirit of these classic fables, without any interpretation or criticism from some modern perspectives. For example, the story of "Foolish Old Man Moves Mountains" focuses on a kind of persistence and perseverance in doing things. It is unnecessary to criticize Foolish Old Man for trying to move mountains as "destroying nature" and "having no concept of environmental protection".
