Marriage engagement custom in Ji 'an, Jiangxi Province

According to the traditional customs of Ji 'an, marriage mainly revolves around two links: the woman's marriage and the man's marriage. For a happy village wedding, adults are concerned about the outcome of the event, while children like to watch the excitement and discuss sweetness.

I saw the two most lively scenes when I was a child. The scene is that the woman goes out of the temple and the man is in the temple. After bowing down, she is carried into the bridal chamber, where she bumps into a new person. Secondly, the night before the wedding day, children and teenagers in the village will go to the bride to ask for two sweets, which are often distributed in an orderly manner at the beginning, and then there is not much sugar, and the looting is out of control, which makes the bride involuntarily.

This is the candy scene I saw when I married that woman. The man will have a new house on his wedding night. That night, the men's hall was brightly lit, drums and music were ringing, and the villagers came to make new houses after dinner. The bride stood in the middle of the hall, facing the hall, and received the blessing. This is a custom in Ji 'an. During the three days when the bride enters her in-laws' home, people of all ethnic groups, big or small, can make fun of the bride and call it "three days is no big or small". No matter old people or children, they can hold candles and sing poems to the bride. By the way, once the bride kneels, some tell jokes or even swear words, which will make the playful people burst into laughter. The bride should not be angry, but also kneel to the admirer again and again, so that she will not stop until late at night. Although the bridal chamber in some places is not very elegant, people habitually think that the more violent and presumptuous the person who makes the bridal chamber is, the more prosperous the future life of the newlyweds will be.

According to the local wedding custom in Ji 'an, the woman marries the woman and the man takes the kiss. Then there are only two things: the return door and the full moon.
