Why do you splash water during the Songkran Festival?

1. Origin of the Songkran Festival: The Songkran Festival originated in Persia in the 5th century. At that time, the Water-Splashing Festival was called "throwing cold water on Hu Opera". Later, "Cold Hu Opera" was introduced to Myanmar, Thailand, China, Xishuangbanna and other places through Persia and India. Songkran Festival is the most solemn festival of Dai people. 2. The Songkran Festival is a New Year's festival for Dai, Achang, Bulang, Wa, De 'ang and some ethnic groups in Indochina Peninsula in China. This is the biggest traditional festival of the Dai people in a year. China Dai Festival is held in June and July of the Dai calendar (around 10 days after Tomb-Sweeping Day). Fixed from April 13 to April 15.
