What is the design purpose of the art gallery?
Recently, I worked as a curatorial architectural consultant in the Asia Center of new york Museum of Modern Art. We arranged exhibitions there, determined the environmental colors according to the exhibits, designed corresponding booths and arranged different lights. In fact, it is not easy to really do an exhibition well. For example, in the new york Museum of Modern Art, there used to be a fabric exhibition to show the status of women, which used a triangular exhibition hall, which was very fresh through the lighting, both modern and historical.
Some contemporary art exhibitions are also very meaningful. For example, bronze sculptures made by some people in the United States look decadent because they are painted, giving people a strong sense of abandonment and a deep impression. The price of this immortal sculpture is/kloc-0 to 2 million dollars, and people still want it. The creative use of materials in this sculpture can also be used for reference in architecture.
Another example is: This year's new york 9 1 1 Lighting Commemorative Event ① was held on a rainy day, and the lighting arrangement in the event was very distinctive, which enhanced the feeling of rain. Linear water drops fell from the sky, and due to the wind, strong light hit it to produce a rainbow, which brought the water curtain image of the destroyed Twin Towers. Is it raining? Or tears? Giving people endless grief, this exhibition is a living exhibition and very successful.
There are also some architectural failures abroad, which can be taken as a warning. Time is limited, so I can't elaborate on what I have seen, heard, thought and thought during my ten years in America. What I want to say here is that we should pay attention to two "musts" in the construction of art galleries: we must be innovative and have our own national characteristics.
Finally, I tell an American joke. This is a story of going home.
Richard, a man on his way home, was so tired that at the last stop of the bus, he asked the waiter to wake him up when the bus came. After paying the tip, he fell asleep on a bench next to an officer. When he was awakened, the officer's hat somehow fell on his head, but he didn't know it. He got on the third-class carriage, and the conductor said, why are you here? Go to the second-class car. When he got there, people put him on the first-class carriage. What's going on here? He passed a mirror and saw the officer's hat on his head. Ah, the waiter must have made a mistake. It was the police officer who was woken up to get on the bus, not me! He jumped out of the car and went back to sleep on the bench. He also missed the last bus and went home for the New Year.
The story of going home, different people will have different inspiration, maybe we will think: everyone has roots, and every nation has its own essential characteristics. It is necessary to keep the essence and catch the train of the times. Don't let yourself be the foreigner who falls asleep on the bench.
