Why did the United States fight Somalia?

This is not a separate action by the United States, but an intervention in Somalia organized by the United Nations.

1In April 1992, the United Nations Security Council adopted resolution 75 1, and established the first UNOSOM to supervise the civil war ceasefire process and provide humanitarian assistance in Somalia together with other agencies. However, the effect of the first UNOSOM operation was not ideal; By 19921February, the warlord Aidid had enough strength to confront the Security Council and constantly obstruct the further actions of the United Nations.

This month, under the leadership of the United States, 24 countries formed the Joint Task Force. The Security Council accepted this proposal and authorized UNITAF to "take all necessary measures to create a safe environment for humanitarian assistance" (resolution 794).

After 1993, the United Nations convened 14 important forces in Somalia, and they all agreed to hand over their weapons and cooperate. However, it is obvious that some of them have not kept their promises, and the situation in Somalia continues to be turbulent, which makes the United Nations decide to hand over its previous tasks to UNOSOM II (mainly from the United States), hoping to establish a stable social order in Somalia, and the operation will end in 1995. There is no doubt that its participation is beneficial to itself. If a unified government can be established in Somalia, the spread of terrorism can be effectively stopped. It is possible to strengthen the strategic presence in the region to a certain extent; Responsible and morally superior. But only if things are done well. If so, I don't know what kind of evaluation will be made today.
