Can the teacher scold the students?

It is illegal for teachers to abuse students.

1 The Compulsory Education Law of People's Republic of China (PRC) (hereinafter referred to as the Compulsory Education Law) Article 29 Teachers should treat students equally, pay attention to their individual differences, teach students in accordance with their aptitude, and promote their all-round development.

Teachers should respect students' personality, and must not discriminate against students, and must not punish students with corporal punishment, corporal punishment in disguised form or other acts that insult their personal dignity, or infringe upon their legitimate rights and interests. It is not illegal for teachers to scold students, as long as the intention is not to discriminate against students, or to impose corporal punishment on students, corporal punishment in disguised form or other acts that insult personal dignity. On the contrary, it may involve breaking the law.

2. Article 42 of the Law on Public Security Administration Punishment commits one of the following acts, and shall be detained for less than five days or fined less than five hundred yuan; If the circumstances are serious, they shall be detained for more than five days and less than ten days, and may be fined up to five hundred yuan:

(1) writing threatening letters or threatening the personal safety of others by other means;

(2) publicly insulting others or fabricating facts to slander others;

(3) fabricating facts, falsely accusing and framing others, and attempting to subject others to criminal investigation or public security administration punishment;

(4) Threatening, insulting, beating or retaliating against witnesses and their close relatives;

(5) sending obscene, insulting, intimidating or other information for many times to interfere with the normal life of others;

(six) voyeurism, sneak shots, eavesdropping, spreading the privacy of others.
