Qiao Tianfu has been engaged in journalism for 39 years and served as a reporter for the People's Liberation Army Daily for 32 years. He integrated the revolutionary spirit of our army, which is not afraid of hardship and death, into his own news photography practice and formed a distinctive photography style. He has been on the front line of blood and fire for decades, and many excellent news photos are spelled out with life. He is the reporter who has been on the battlefield the most and has the most urgent and dangerous task.

The news photos he took showed the heroic fighting image of front-line officers and soldiers. In order to reach the front of the Nalakou position, he disguised himself as a soldier who transported ammunition to the front position and crossed the famous "100-meter line of life and death" with a woven bag and camera. In a counterattack, our artillery position was shot and caught fire, and hundreds of boxes of ammunition could explode at any time. At the critical moment, he calmly photographed the heroic moment when soldiers snatched ammunition from the fire regardless of life and death.

On February 12, he moved to Jiangxi again, and moved to the mountains and forests of northern Jiangxi, western Jiangxi and southern Jiangxi with the troops. Aftershocks continued that night, and he could be buried by landslides at any time. He is not afraid of difficulties and sacrifices. He stays at the scene all night and records the feats of officers and men saving lives.

He was given a high honor in the organization: he was the journalist who made the most contributions and won the most awards among the editors of the People's Liberation Army Daily. In June 2008, it was awarded the honorary title of "National Model of Earthquake Relief" by the Central Committee, the State Council and the Central Military Commission.
